Preschool Shopping

Labor Day 2009
While Justin went on a cycling "trip" (I think it was 60 miles in about 3-4 hours), I took Trey and Tian Preschool shopping. As you can see in a few blog posts back, Trey chose this Volcom "Superhero"-themed and had to wear the shirt out of the store.

I bribed Trey with a ride after our shopping trip.

Time Out for Women

I find the name of this women's conference somewhat ironic. When most mothers hear the phrase, "Time Out," it is usually refering to a child something quite negative. But, this women's conference was anything but negative! It was fabulous, fantastic, energetic and uplifting. Something which was spent with friends galore!

A group from our ward took up nearly a whole row and then my friends Jessyka and L'erin joined us. I spent the lunch break with Janae, Jessyka and L'erin.

Mr. Mouthy aka Tian

It is only appropriate Tian would have something in his mouth constantly, while wearing the Mr. Mouthy shirt. I can't believe he can still fit into this shirt; it is one of my favorites! Tian was enjoying watching Trey and Justin play frisbee, but secretly I think he was enjoying chewing on their frisbees more!








This little guy is growing right before our eyes. Completely boyish, wanting to get in on the fun with his big brother and his dad.

SKYPing with Nora

Thank heavens for skyping! We have been able to talk to cousin Nora, who lives in Washington State several times, this day was extra special! This was Nora's second day of Middle School (and I know you will read this blog post Nora, so, correct me if I am wrong about which day of school you had just finished!) and Trey's first day of Preschool! She is such a sweet cousin, so mature and so excited about life. She showed me her new school clothes (of course something I could relate to! I LIVED for back-to-school shopping and admit I will LIVE for back-to-school shopping for Trey and Tian!), told me about her locker/cubby situation at school and her recent crushes!

We think you are amazing Nora and wish you luck in your new Middle School adventure! Love you Nora!

Trey and Nora SKYPing

1st day of school Tradition

The 2nd family tradition for the 1st day of school is a special treat left on your bed. When I was in school, I looked forward to not only coming home to my mom and spilling my guts about the events of the first day of school, but also seeing what kind of surprise she left on my bed. I did the same for Trey and can't wait to keep this tradition alive in our home.

The night before the first day of school, Trey received a blessing from Justin which was also so sweet. Trey was looking forward to Justin giving him a blessing.

Before bed, I had told Trey about my families "special surprise" tradition. He was very excited and intrigued.

Trey received some crackers, Bug Juice (some NASTY juice that is his favorite!), bubble tape (I remember LOVING bubble tape), and a sappy note from yours truly.





Before Trey's nap, we layed on his bed and wrote in his Preschool journal. I want to ask him questions about his day at school and then write his answers in his "Preschool Journal." I am hoping that #1. He will eventually be able to write the answers himself in his journal. and #2. This will keep the lines of communication open and he will look forward to coming home and telling me about his day; just as I was when I would return home from school.

The Mommy Club

After dropping our boys off at Preschool, us three mommy's went to breakfast at a nearby coffee shop. We talked photography, politics, fashion, and work!


By the time we were done eating, there was just a few minutes to get things ready at the house before the big Preschooler came home! 2nd family tradition to follow! Wait and see!

Trey's a preschooler

A big day for our Treyman! We have been excited for this day for quite some time, and it is finally here. Trey entered Preschool.

Two days prior, we picked out his "first day of school" outfit, he choose this "cool" superhero style Volcom t-shirt. He had choosen a "Speed Racer" backpack while on a trip to Bend two months ago, but at the last minute, while picking up some office supplies from Office Depot, Trey spotted a cute Small Paul backpack from across the store. Trey yelled, "Mom, they have Small Paul backpacks here!" How can you say NO to that! The sweet associate even gave me a discout because the backpack was hanging on the wrong rack!!! Trey is quite the brand snob, and I am not too proud of this quality at such a young age. I do have to admit that the Small Paul backpack is much cuter then the Speed Racer one! Just my opinion!

Trey was so excited to go to Preschool with his friends Keaton and Tyler, and more importantly, to learn from Miss Cherry and Miss Des. As we were getting out of our car, Miss Cherry pulled up and greeted us. I think Trey would have taken her hand and walked right into Preschool if I would have let him. BUT, silly mom that I am had to get pictures of him AND walk him in myself. Just to make sure he got there okay! (not like he could have been abducted OR get lost, the preschool IS in a house!)

I love you Treyman and am so happy for you. You are growing into such a big boy, a sweet boy, and a smart little man!

Car Track

This car track was made by one of Derek, my brother's tutors YEARS ago. A few years ago Trey inherited and has started to show interest in it. Tian jumped right in on the car track action.















If Tian could only figure out the WHEELS go on the car track NOT the hood of the car.

Grandma and Grandpa Bend's Tractor

We waited until the morning after Tian's birthday to let him open his last gift, given to him by Grandma and Grandpa Bend. A lot of thought went into Tian's gift, and as you can tell, he not only loved opening his gift (without his brother's help, who was still fast asleep!) but he adored his new tractor. Grandpa Bend wanted to write on the Farmer's face, 'Grandpa Bend', but Grandma Bend grabbed the sharpie out of his hand and told him he couldn't.

Look at these cute pj's from Grandma Bend! So stinkin' cute. I also reminded her they are Bend High colors, blue and gold. AWWWW, sentimental!

This picture is a bit freaky. Tian was going so crazy with the tractor, all you can see are his little toes at the bottom of the picture, you can't even see his body because Tian was so crazy excited!
