"S"

10.5.08
Trey came in from being outside saying he found an "S." I didn't quite know what he was talking about until he showed me his "S." It had been raining for 2 days and there were dead worms everywhere. I guess he found his perfect "S" worm outside on our driveway. Trey was outside helping Justin build shelves in our garage, HENCE, the need for ear protectors. (Just thought I would clarify, I didn't want you to think he just wears protection on his ears for the heck of it!)

Priesthood Session Doughnuts

10.4.08
Justin has always talked about his mother making "homemade doughnuts" for his father to come home to after the Priesthood Session of General Conference. I think I have heard the stories at least 18 times (2 times a year for the almost 9 years we have been married!) and I finally got out the domestic skills I have hidden and tried my hand at some doughnuts.

We invited "the cousins" and their parents over to help us eat our doughnuts and pumpkin bars. Nothing rings in the Autumn season like some Pumpkin bars.

Linder Farms

10.3.08
We were invited to our friend Gage's birthday party at the Corn Maze. Two days before Gage's party, I threw my back out and didn't think I could run around the maze with Tian strapped to my chest following Trey. Gage's mom Amy offered to take Trey, but I knew he would be a handful. Unfortunately, I had spilled the beans about Gage's party, and Trey was planning on going to a corn maze. So, this evening, we went as a family. Justin strapped Tian to HIS chest, and I just walked, ever so carefully, around the pumpkin patch.

Trey running through a corn maze just his size!

I thought we could get some pictures of the two boys in their halloween costumes together.

HMMMMMM, not the BEST picture of our two little Trick-or-Treaters!

Linder Farms has an added feature this year: a petting zoo! We should have brought Trey's ear protection because he was a little nervous about the noise, but he was really brave and even pet a goat.

The Dribnaks

10.3.08
Jessica was the first friend we introduced Tian to when we arrived home from the hospital. Her girls hadn't met Tian yet, so she asked if she and the girls come come pay us a visit! "OF COURSE," was my reply! I love ALL of the Dribnaks and was looking forward to introducing Tian to the other Dribnak girls! (Alyce and Jessica are sister-in-laws!)

They brought Trey and Tian and blown-up Penguin that has balls at the bottom. It is perfect for Trey now; he uses it as a punching bag!!! He loves it! Thank you for your visit, we love you guys! (and I think Trey SLIGHTLY loves Molly!)

These outfits were NOT planned! Jessica and I just think WAY too much alike! Molly is the youngest, held by Morgan. McKenna is so cutely posed next to Jessica.

Caught Soapy-Handed

10.3.08
I was changing a very wet diaper of Tian's when I realized Trey had gone missing. Usually, Trey is following me around, wanting to help or wanting SOMETHING from me, so for him to not be in arms length of me was strange. I started to call for him and he said he was in our bathroom "painting". I was anxious to see what he was painting and what WITH. This is what I found:

Trey said he was "painting" the walls of the shower with his bubble bath. It could have been much worse!!!

A gift for Jacob

10.1.08
Our nephew Jacob's B-day is coming up and so I was wrapping his gift a little early. I asked Trey if he would like to draw something for Jacob; this is what he drew!

Trey's drawing

One video is my own taking, the other is from Trey's perspective.

Mode of Transportation

I have seen this guy several times driving around, and this time I had my camera in the car. This picture is more for my mom, we are always snapping away at strange and unusual things we see as we are out and about.

This man looks like a very tough fellow. In fact, he is smoking as he is driving a motorcycle. But, if you look closely, he has his little Purse Poodle dog strapped to the front of his bike and he is clutching onto that beast with all of his might. Neither one of them is sporting a helmet; I don't even want to think about what could happen to the two of them if they got into an accident.

Strange, and I guess I am even stranger for taking a picture of this man!

This one's for you mom!!!

Trey's done it AGAIN!

10.2.08
Trey has slept through the night AGAIN! Grandma Bend bought him a gift and snuck it away for a special time when we felt Trey needed a little gift. I had no idea what it was, and I was anxious for Trey to do something outstanding.

Well, he slept through the night, woke up SO happy, and made my morning. SO, I told him Grandma Bend had gotten him something for his efforts!

To Trey, and my excitement, it was a Diego Mega Blocks set and he LOVES it!

Thank you Grandma Bend for thinking of Trey and all of his accomplishments!!

Alyce

10.1.08
As I was driving home from Settler's Park, Alyce called and asked if they could come visit us and then take Trey back to their home to play. What sweet friends I have. I was anxious to see Alyce, I hadn't seen her or her kids for a while! Trey was anxious too! A few minutes before the Dribnak's were to arrive, he went outside and waited for them on his scooter!

They came baring gifts: A one-piece outfit from Gymboree with Construction Vehicles on it, which is so sweet, considering Justin's profession. Also, they brought Trey a car which he has enjoyed! Thank you for thinking of Tian AND Trey. You guys are the sweetest!

Trey was so excited to go play at Tyler's home. When Justin came home from work, we ate dinner and played with Tian.

We walked to the Dribnak's to pick up Trey. When we got there, we couldn't find Trey. We looked in Tyler's room, he was no where. Where did we find him? On top of Ashley's bunk bed, riding a Mater car. That stinker!

Thanks again Alyce for having Trey over. He really enjoyed himself! Thanks also for being my friend!

Here are some pictures of Tyler and Trey as infants. Alyce and I were pregnant at the same time, did prenatal yoga and went on walks together to pass our pregnancy time by. It was nice to have a friend going through the same things that I was. PLUS, she was an added bonus, already a professional at being pregnant and being a mom: Tyler was her third.

A trip down memory lane. Trey and Tyler since the beginning!

Settler's Park

10.1.08
I took Trey to Tian's 2 week Well Child Check and I was so nervous. I haven't really taken both boys out together and didn't know what to expect from Trey. I bribed him with a package of fruit snacks and that seemed to do WONDERS! (Fruit snacks are a real treat for him. Not that I wouldn't LOVE to have them around the house because I personally think they are AWESOME. But, Trey would eat them for breakfast, lunch, and dinner and I wouldn't hear the end of his begging for fruit snacks.) He played all by himself in the exam room and talked to the doctor only when he was spoken to. (He has the tendancy to talk, talk, and talk. I am not complaining ONE BIT about him talking, it is just the point that he talks and wants everyone undivided attention that I was afraid of. But, he only spoke when Dr. Archibald asked him questions. He is NOT one shy toddler!) After Tian's appointment, Dr. Archibald asked if Trey wanted a sticker. He had all kinds of stickers but Trey chose the Swiper from Dora sticker. Dr. Archibald responded to Trey's choice of stickers with the phrase, "Swiper no Swipee, Swiper no Swipee," and Trey finished the sentence with, "Oh MAN!" HILARIOUS! One more reason Dr. Archibald is the best! He KNOWS kids! (AND, he also hooked us up with a gift bag FULL of formula and samples. You can't go wrong with free formula!)

So, because Trey did AMAZINGLY well at Tian's appointment, I took him through the drive-thru at Burger King and off to the park to eat our lunch. Well, we didn't eat at the park AT ALL, but we did have fun.

One of Trey's recent skills: Hopping on one foot

Usually when I would take Trey to the park, I would be one step behind him, watching his every move. Now with a newborn strapped to me like a Kangaroo, I can't move around as easily through a playstructure like the old days. Trey did wonderfully and I think he enjoyed his freedom and independence.
