Easter Eggs and Decorations

Grandma Marie took a little break from helping with Baby Isaac to come dye Easter Eggs with the boys. Marie is very artistic and made some beautiful easter eggs.

Trey then wanted to decorate the house with our Easter Decorations. I let him do most of the work (except for the placement of the little robin eggs, that was all my doing!) and was pretty proud of his efforts!

The pink lacey basket was mine all growing up! The cute little blue bunny and yellow chick were found after Easter at Safeway in Bend, Oregon. I went to Safeway quite a bit over Easter break last year for their pharmacy (Tian was sick the entire trip and ended up in the ER twice) and would pass these little wooden gems up every trip. Finally, I broke down and snagged some of the last ones left and am now so happy I did!

This lantern was given to me by my friend Angie who I attended X-ray school with. It has sat on top of our plant shelf for years and I have missed it terribly!

This is what Tian did for most of the Easter Egg Dying party. Surprised? You shouldn't be!

Ducky Dane

My friend Amy asked if I would take some pictures of her youngest little guy Dane for Easter. His Grandma gave him this cute duck costume and Amy thought it would be fun to get some pictures of Dane in the costume.

Isn't he the cutest little guy you have ever seen?

Of course Tian wanted in on the action after waking up from a nap! Notice the bed head! AND, something in his hand to eat, a signature feature for this little man!



Amy is one of Tian's nursery leaders who he absolutely loves. This big smile was directed at Amy! Thank you Amy for all you do in nursery.

sommers luncheon

My bestie Sommers and I have been through a whole lot in our 9 years of friendship. We have been through 3 college graduations, 2 camping trips, 2 road trips, many doctors appointments, and many late nights. All of which happened before our little boys entered this world. Now Sommers is expecting her second boy, and I was fortunate enough to snag the wonderful opportunity to help shower her with a baby luncheon! We had it at one of our favorite lunch spots Willowcreek Grill.

Sommers is the craftiest person I know; so, it was very difficult to find something I could make for her "thank you" parting favors that she already hasn't made. Low and behold, I found a whole blog of fun, crafty, practical crafts that I am now obsessed with. The blog is written by this witty, cute, and mama to two named Nancy who is so kind to explain each of her crafty crafts. This is what I made, thanks to Nancy's help, for the parting favors:



Sommers has an amazing collection of jewelry, and to by honest, I wasn't thinking of the other guests! So, I made jewelry displays for each friend. I was thinking about the things Sommers loves! #1. Jewelry. #2. Shaydon. So, my second parting favor was a CD of Shaydon's favorite music.

(I love my new CD software! It will be perfect for Senior Picture season. I have used it a ton already and love the little added touch to a CD!)

It was nice visiting with Sommers friends Kelli and Cara. They truly care about Sommers and took some time out of their busy schedules to join us for lunch. Sommers
is always thinking of others and supporting them through what life may bring; it is so nice to see others can return the love!




Lastly, to end our eventful afternoon, we got mani/pedi's! Sommers bought me a pedi gift certificate for my birthday in hopes that I would use it for when she was about to pop with baby by #2. OF course, I wouldn't have used it with anyone else! It is our tradition!


I love you Sommers and hope you know how much our friendship means to me! Now,deliver that sweet baby so we can meet him!

easter egg hunt

James invited us to his neighborhood's easter egg hunt. Justin was out on a bike ride training for his summer of races, so, I thought it would be a nice activity to do. I parked at "the cousins" home and we walked over to their neighborhood's park for the big hunt.






Tian really understood what to do with the eggs. He only got a handful but that was enough to make him happy.

Trey went hunting with Tacy and Grandma Marie.

After the hunt, the boys and their cousins all gathered together to check out their loot. Tian proceeded to eat a piece of candy but forgot to take off the foil. The foil must have gotten stuck in his throat because he began to gag, and then puke all of his candy up, right in front of all the happy hunters! Always when you least expect it, a boy of mine pukes.

Another highlight of the afternoon, I basically schooled James in a race to his home from the park. I had Trey and Tian in our double stroller and I had on my Diesel slip on shoes. James had Tyson and Tacy in his double stroller and he was wearing his running shoes. At the same time, we both began running. I finally had to stop running just so he could catch up! Ahhhh, victory!
(actually, he probably was going easy on me, but I had a few reasons for not winning. First, I wasn't wearing my proper running shoes. Second, I had just about the same amount of weight on my stroller as he did, AND, I am smaller then him. THAT is how I justify schooling James!)

"cool eyes"

Trey wanted to learn how to "wink." I spent some time teaching him how to "wink" and finally, he came up with his own way to "wink." He called it "cool eyes." He turned to me and said, "Look at my "cool eyes."

Tian loves food of course, and today, it is Italian. Italian does not disappointment.

Dallon and Trey have been in the same Primary class and now go to Preschool together. It was Spring Break and Dallon's mom asked if Trey would like to play with Dallon! Trey was so happy to have a friend come over!

goodnight routine

The goodnight routine is usually done with Justin reading Trey two books and one story from Trey's picture scriptures and me putting Tian to sleep. I have wanted to switch Justin's "jobs" but he doesn't want to switch.

The other night, Justin was gone and I got to read Trey his nigh time books. Trey wanted to read to ME, so, I let him. He said, "When I grow up, I want to be a Daddy. I am going to read my kids books at night." Justin is an excellent example to Trey. I am so happy Trey has an example just like Justin.

Godell Family

A sweet friend Mindy from Bend e-mailed me a few weeks ago and told me she was going to be in Idaho. Her parents and siblings live in Idaho now and she was visiting for the week. She usually goes to Kiddie Kandid's, but it has gone out of business. She wondered if I could take her children's pictures. Ummm, HELLO! YES!

We went along the Boise river, a location my friend Emily and I love!

Watch out, picture overload of some of the cutest kids you will ever see.

I invited the boys to Rhett's photoshoot. Justin is friends with Justin Reynold's, and I wanted this to be a family afternoon. I also wanted to get a family picture. I had read on a photography blog about a mother who loved to take pictures. Within a 5 year span, she could only count on one hand how many pictures she was in. I expressed my fear to Justin, and he took it seriously! He really made it a point to get our families picture. AND, we got to use our new tripod which is a bonus!

First, pictures of my cute boy Trey who doesn't seem to mind getting his picture taken:

Notice the sticker on Trey's shirt? Grandma Bend sent stickers to Trey and Tian which said, "Amazing Kid" on them. Trey wore his proudly!
