Happy Birthday to Me!

3.6.08
Justin surprised me this morning with a package of Sweedish Fish and a sweet card. On the front of the card it had a cute picture of a woman at a spa getting a pedicure. The card said, "Pamper yourself. It is your birthday!" When I opened it, a piece of paper fell out. On it, it had an address with the time 2:30 today written underneath it!
I knew this must have taken a lot of research on Justin's part, this spa had just opened, and he would have to take a half day off! I was so excited!

Sommers and Shaydon came over to wish me a "Happy Birthday!" Sommers gave me the cutest dress I can't wait to wear, when I have some tan legs, that is! It is so cute, perfect for all seasons! She knows my taste all too well. We then took our boys to the "duck park" in Nampa and fed the ducks cruotons and costco muffins.

Sommers had to leave for a lunch date with her cousin, so we stayed at the park and waited for Jusin. Trey enjoyed the slides and swings.

Justin took us to Hong Kong for a lunch date, and while we were there, I had birthday phone calls from my uncle Marshall and Great Aunt Donna! So kind of them for thinking of me.
Justin told me that he got me a massage, pedicure and manicure at the spa. I haven't had a massage by anyone else but Sommers (she is a massage therapist!) and I had a question to ask her about my massage. I called her on her cell, appoligizing that i was interupting her lunch date. She said I wasn't, she was actually getting her hair done like she had always planned on doing. A little back ground: I was supposed to watch Shaydon on this day while she went to a hair appointment. Mysteriously, Sommers called me a day before saying her stylist canceled, but she still wanted to come and see me on my birthday. Sommers rearranged her whole schedule just for me and my birthday. She was in on the whole day, Justin had told her about the spa package! She is the greatest friend and wished me a great afternoon at the spa!

The spa was fantastic. The massage was very relaxing and quiet. The therapist didn't talk ONCE, and that was perfect!
My pedicure was so rewarding and the manicure was well needed.

I came home so relaxed, energized and ready to see my boys. Justin was so inspired. His gift was what the doctor ordered, so satisfying and relaxing!

While I had been away, Justin found a cupcake on our doorstep, left by my sweet friend Alyce! We cut it in thirds, Justin and Trey sang "Happy Birthday" to me, and we dove into Alyce's cupcake. It was delicious!

(don't I look relaxed?!)

Thanks to all who made my birthday so special and memorable. Thank you to all of the phone calls, they meant so much to me! I really am blessed!

Happy Birthday Robert

3.3.08
Happy 26th Birthday to my brother Robert! Robert started a new job at the Deschutes River Ranch on his 26th Birthday! He has always been the best uncle to Trey, and we hope he has a wonderful birthday and year to come!

Farewell Bend

3.2.08
Ironically, Bend, Oregon's name used to be Farewell Bend, but then shortened to Bend, Oregon a few years after it was founded!
On our last day in Bend, Trey usually gets out all of his playing before we leave. We are always so sad to leave.

Trey got up enough courage to finally pet and feed the cows. I was very proud of him!

A last jump on the tramp with Grandma Bend and Derek.

Trey enjoys playing in the barn with the hay and chasing the barn cats. One of Trey's favorite toys: the 6-wheeler!!!

Trey had been trying to ride one of Robert's dogs all week, finally, he was able to stay on Cleatus, the dog, long enough to snap a picture.

As a final farewell, Grandpa Bend took Trey on a ride down the dirt driveway on the 6-wheeler. I followed them, very slowly in our car, and met them at the end of the road. Needless to say, Trey didn't want to get off the 6-wheeler or to say goodbye to Grandpa Bend. It was a sad moment, but we promised we would be back soon.

My parents live about 3 miles from the Highway, and we hadn't even traveled 2 miles and Trey was out. He was OUT until we reached Burn, Oregon, two hours into our trip. It was wonderful to listen to my own Satelite radio programs (too bad E! is only on Monday through Friday! I really would have caught up on ALL of my gossip.).

Movie @ McMinimums

3.1.08
We spent the afternoon at McMinimums Pub watching the newest Veggie Tale Movie: The Pirates Who Don't Do Anything! We invited Delaney, Abbey and Ryan to join us! We sat in the very front row, ate tater tots and popcorn. The neatest thing about McMinimums movies are the seats. You don't sit in theater seats, you sit in antique couches and chairs. We weren't lucky enough to get a couch, but we did get some comfy chairs.

The whole evening Trey kept calling me Princess (the whole movie was about "saving the Princess!") It was Delaney's first movie, and I think she really liked it!

Abbey and Ryan were married outside of McMinimums and then had their reception in the "Father Joseph" room, so, ironically, after the movie, the kids found the Father Joseph room and played around for quite some time!

"Future Prom King and Queen!"
