Alyce

10.1.08
As I was driving home from Settler's Park, Alyce called and asked if they could come visit us and then take Trey back to their home to play. What sweet friends I have. I was anxious to see Alyce, I hadn't seen her or her kids for a while! Trey was anxious too! A few minutes before the Dribnak's were to arrive, he went outside and waited for them on his scooter!

They came baring gifts: A one-piece outfit from Gymboree with Construction Vehicles on it, which is so sweet, considering Justin's profession. Also, they brought Trey a car which he has enjoyed! Thank you for thinking of Tian AND Trey. You guys are the sweetest!

Trey was so excited to go play at Tyler's home. When Justin came home from work, we ate dinner and played with Tian.

We walked to the Dribnak's to pick up Trey. When we got there, we couldn't find Trey. We looked in Tyler's room, he was no where. Where did we find him? On top of Ashley's bunk bed, riding a Mater car. That stinker!

Thanks again Alyce for having Trey over. He really enjoyed himself! Thanks also for being my friend!

Here are some pictures of Tyler and Trey as infants. Alyce and I were pregnant at the same time, did prenatal yoga and went on walks together to pass our pregnancy time by. It was nice to have a friend going through the same things that I was. PLUS, she was an added bonus, already a professional at being pregnant and being a mom: Tyler was her third.

A trip down memory lane. Trey and Tyler since the beginning!

Settler's Park

10.1.08
I took Trey to Tian's 2 week Well Child Check and I was so nervous. I haven't really taken both boys out together and didn't know what to expect from Trey. I bribed him with a package of fruit snacks and that seemed to do WONDERS! (Fruit snacks are a real treat for him. Not that I wouldn't LOVE to have them around the house because I personally think they are AWESOME. But, Trey would eat them for breakfast, lunch, and dinner and I wouldn't hear the end of his begging for fruit snacks.) He played all by himself in the exam room and talked to the doctor only when he was spoken to. (He has the tendancy to talk, talk, and talk. I am not complaining ONE BIT about him talking, it is just the point that he talks and wants everyone undivided attention that I was afraid of. But, he only spoke when Dr. Archibald asked him questions. He is NOT one shy toddler!) After Tian's appointment, Dr. Archibald asked if Trey wanted a sticker. He had all kinds of stickers but Trey chose the Swiper from Dora sticker. Dr. Archibald responded to Trey's choice of stickers with the phrase, "Swiper no Swipee, Swiper no Swipee," and Trey finished the sentence with, "Oh MAN!" HILARIOUS! One more reason Dr. Archibald is the best! He KNOWS kids! (AND, he also hooked us up with a gift bag FULL of formula and samples. You can't go wrong with free formula!)

So, because Trey did AMAZINGLY well at Tian's appointment, I took him through the drive-thru at Burger King and off to the park to eat our lunch. Well, we didn't eat at the park AT ALL, but we did have fun.

One of Trey's recent skills: Hopping on one foot

Usually when I would take Trey to the park, I would be one step behind him, watching his every move. Now with a newborn strapped to me like a Kangaroo, I can't move around as easily through a playstructure like the old days. Trey did wonderfully and I think he enjoyed his freedom and independence.

Show-and-Tell at Miss Michelle's

9.30.08

We have been wanting to take Tian for Show-and-Tell, which is on Tuesdays at Miss Michelle's, and today was the day. We walked over to Miss Michelle's home at 10am and the kids were waiting to see their friend Trey. Trey not only wanted to bring baby Tian, he wanted to bring a dog tag necklace he says Miss Michelle gave him (but actually, she brought it back from Drew's birthday party FOR Trey!), and Cow Moo, his Build-a-Bear Kuala Bear to show his friends.

First, it was showing off C0w Moo and answering his friends questions about his bear when they rose their hand.

After showing off the dog tag from Drew, Miss Michelle asked if Trey had anything else to show his friends, and he said, "No." Miss Michelle then said, "Well, who is your mom holding? Do you want to introduce him to your friends?" Trey said, "This is my baby brother Tian" and then went to grab him out of my arms. AHHHH, thanks for Miss Michelle who took Tian from me and saved him from his big brother Trey! She helped Trey hold Tian up for all of his friends to see.

Miss Michelle then laid Tian on the ground for everyone to see. She asked the kids questions like, "Why do babies cry?" "What can we do for babies when they cry?" "Why do babies have such small toes?" (Hence, the reason Tian doesn't have any socks on in one of the pictures!) She is such a great teacher! The kids learn SOOOOOO much from her, she is amazing!

Trey stayed for everyone's show-and-tell, and then I stayed to chat with Miss Michelle and Taylor. Poor Taylor. She didn't hold Tian when she came to visit us in the hospital, and I completely understand why. She arrived about 10 minutes after Tian was born, and lets just say, they clean-up crew wasn't THAT speedy at their job. I am sure Taylor wanted to "head for the hills" after being in my labor room and seeing WHO KNOWS WHAT. I am sure that afternoon freaked her out.

This afternoon she held Tian, and sweet little Sami joined in on the Tian lovin'!

As I was getting Trey ready to leave, I asked him if we should leave Tian with Taylor. He got really nervous and said, "No, because Tian is apart of our family!" I got a bit teary-eyed! Such a sweet boy who loves his little brother!

Thanks Miss Michelle for letting us come over for Show-And-Tell! We had a great time!

2 weeks old

cutest little grin
9.30.08
Our little Tian is already 2 weeks old.

He has many more awake periods throughout the day and is much more expressive.
He is now drinking 3 ounces of formula but still eats every 2 hours.

At his 2 week Well Child Checkup, these were his stats:

Weight: 8lbs. 12.5 ounces 50%
Height: 21.5 inches 70%
Head: 36.5 cm 50%

I am amazed at how much he has grown; at least a pound gained and a half an inch in length grown. AMAZING!

Tian and Katie

9.28.08
Tina had us over for dinner before Grandma Marie and Grandpa Larry left for Washington. This is Tian with his big cousin Katie who always says, "Tian, you are soooooooo cute" when she sees Tian. Then she adds, "Just like my baby brother Tyson!"

Thanks for dinner Tina!

Trey's many Expressions

9.28.08
Trey has a Thomas the Train Leap Frog DVD game that discusses different expressions. Trey likes to immitate each expression. Here are some of Trey's favorite expressions!

Who does Tian Look Like?

9.28.08
I still can't figure it out: Who does Tian look like? I got a few different pictures of Tian's expressions and I still don't know who he looks like.

Tian gets Dunked

9.28.08
Tian's umbilical cord fell off 3 days ago and Grandma Marie has been dying to dunk this poor little guy! (Just kidding, but I really do think she was anxious for this major milestone!) I was happy to witness, didn't do much of the washing because I had to get pictures of course.

I like the reflection of Marie in this picture

HAVE YOU HEARD?

Clay Aiken is Gay? Tian is SHOCKED!

9.27.08
Have you heard: Clay Aiken is gay! My brother Robert called to let my mother in on the little secret, and my mother was shocked. My father called to tell ME about the gossip, and I was NOT shocked. My mother-in-law hadn't heard the news, so I was the bearer of this horrible gossip. She hadn't heard the news and wasn't too surprised. This evening we went to Fred Meyer and while we were standing in line at checkout, I saw the People Magazine with Clay Aiken, his baby on the front, and the headline: "Yes, I am Gay!" I couldn't pass up the opportunity to purchase the magazine and find out for myself.

Marie read the article first, filling us in on the dirty gossip.

Tian looks like he is reading the article as well. I guess you can't start too young with the Hollywood Gossip.

Icecream Truck

9.27.08

We had been hearing the icecream truck all evening. The music from the truck became VERY loud, sure enough, it was parked right outside our home. The neighbor kids were ordering some icecream, how could we NOT let Trey join in the fun.

Trey chose a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Popsicle with bubble gum eyes

Unfortunately, the icecream truck came BEFORE dinner was served. So, the mean mom that I am, I made Trey eat his dinner BEFORE his cool popsicle. Thanks Sommers for the Chicken Enchilada dinner. It was so yummy!

Garage Sales at 11 days old

  • 9.27.08
Sommers had informed us of an old high school friend who lived in the North End of Boise that was holding a Garage Sale. Her friend said that she could honestly open a baby boutique with all of her name brand clothes that she was selling. I told Marie and Tina about it, who informed ME that I could open my own clothing store with all of my boys clothes, and we decided to check out her sale.

We met at 7:20am at our home and headed to the North End where we would be meeting Sommers. I took Tian along, he is usually up at this hour anyhow, and Tina, Marie and I were off!

Not only did we stop at Sommers friend's sale, but we stopped at two other locations. I love the North End; the homes are so different, the sidewalks are beautiful, and the neighborhoods are so quiet.

    My finds:
2 pair of Abercrombie Jeans (I bought one pair of jeans from Sommers friend. She told me she was going to charge me extra if I could FIT into her jeans after having a baby 11 days prior. I told her I was buying them as an incentive to get into shape!!!)
1 pair of American Eagle Jeans
    1 Abercrombie sweater
A "BOAT-LOAD" of clothes for the boys
Marble Works toy from Discovery Toys (a Christmas toy for Trey he is going to LOVE! Miss Michelle and my mom both have this toy and Trey digs it!)
1 large bag of puppets (another Christmas Gift for Trey and his crazy imagination)
    Books for Trey
    1 leather HERMES purse

For a grand total of $22.00!!!!

I had to have a picture of Tian and I on our first Garage Sale adventures. Yes, no makeup, hair is a little crazy, and Tian is hiding under the green blanket so strangers wouldn't pass on their germs. But, we had a great time and are sad to say this is probably the end of Yard Sale Season.

Thanks Sommers for telling us about the Garage Sales. We had a great time and are jealous of your Juicy Purse!!!!

Wall-E Drive-In and Bath with Grandma Marie

9.26.08
I had planned an evening at the Drive-In with our family and James and Tina's family. Wall-E was playing and I thought Trey would like it. Marie offered to watch Tian while I accompanied my boys to the movie but I chickened out in the end and stayed home with Marie. We gave Tian a bath, watched the Presidential Debate, and Marie helped me sew.

Tian and Grandma Marie all wiped out!
