1st playgroup back

6.18.08
1st playgroup back since baby Beck and baby Ashlyn were born! Trey, Megan and Beni had a great time playing in the sand and then in the sprinklers.

Goodbye Bend

6.29.08
Our trip to Bend had come to an end way too quickly. Thinking back over the last 8 or 9 years, I have realized I haven't spent an entire week with my mom! What a wonderful time we had.
Our last day in Bend was spent at church with my parents and Derek, and saying "goodbye" to Taylor.

Class of 1998 Reunion

-Future Bend High Lava Bears!-

6.28.08
To be honest, I have been looking forward to my high school reunion for many years, and I couldn't believe the time had already come.
It was a family BBQ held at the school's football field. Abbey had been at the school all day helping our friend Sarah Mattox set up. We brought Trey's scooter so he wouldn't be completely bored while his mom socialized.

We got there and immediately were greeted by Abbey, Ryan and Delaney. Abbey and Ryan are high school sweethearts, so I was a bit nervous about what Justin would do. Normally, he probably would have hung out with Ryan, but because Ryan too knew everyone, I was feeling bad for Justin. Justin was the biggest sport ever. He was basically the Reunions Babysitter. He was just about the only adult and parent watching all of the kids in the long jump sand pit, and the only adult regulating the activities on the track. (Trey's scooter came in quite handy. I made sure Abbey and Ryan brought a ride along toy for Delaney so they could cruise around.)

-Abbey and Ryan Davis with me and Justin-

Abbey arranged "Country Catering" for the dinner and it was delicious.
Sarah arranged two pinatas which Trey loved. Considering the weekend before he had his first pinata experience, he knew exactly what to do. (Cute pinatas by the way. One was a "9" the other was an "8.")

While waiting for the pinata, the kids found the old golf cart. Seeing all of the kids on the golf cart reminded me of great memories. During the summer, whether I was at volleyball practice or cheerleading practice, there wouldn't be a day where you couldn't spot that golf cart cruising around the football field, delivering water to the football players or hauling a hurt player off the field. I just had to get a picture of Trey on the famous golf cart.

It had been many years since I had seen a lot of my high school classmates. Some of which was I was so happy to get reaquainted with were:
-April Mortensen. April lives in Corvalis, Oregon. We chatted about her schooling, horses, and our old days of toilet-papering and sleepovers. We once toilet-papered a classmates home and it ended up not being his home. April reminded me that we poured a box of cornflakes on their lawn. We were so mean-our classmate had ended up moving and an older couple moved into the home WE had toilet-papered.

-Kimber York. She is pregnant with her 3rd baby, she is having a girl. I have felt as if we have kept in touch, she has a cute myspace account I sometimes check. She drove all the way from North Carolina with her 2 kids and 2 sisters. Crazy woman!

-Mike Nye and his wife. Mike is a Computer Teacher in Redmond, and his wife is a teacher as well. His wife told us Mike's students have nick named him "Mike Nye, the computer guy." CUTE! They just had a little baby boy they named Adam. His wife is so sweet and easy to talk to. Mike was the nicest guy ever, all the girls loved to hang out with him because he was so sweet. Someone even pointed out, "Mike, you are sill the ladies man!" So true. Sweet Mike.

-Gregg Rouse. Gregg has two children, a beautiful wife and lives in California. His wife had to go back to work in California earlier in the week, and Gregg left his kids home with his mom and came to the reunion by himself. Gregg's father died in a snowmobiling "accident." (Gregg's brother and dad went snowmobiling one afternoon 2 winters ago and got lost for many days. Gregg's brother was able to get out of the wilderness, with some help from the search and rescue team, but his father ended up passing away before they could save him.) The week of the reunion was ALSO the week of a golf tournament SunRiver has in Gregg's father's name. I saw Gregg's mother Kaye over Thanksgiving and she seemed to be doing very well. So, Gregg and I talked about his family, my family, etc.

It was a very pleasant evening. We graduated with over 200 students, only about 15 came. I really missed not seeing more of our friends, so Abbey has taken it upon herself to arrange a 11 year class reunion for next year, possibly around Labor Day.

Saturday Activities at the Sauter's

6.28.08
What a beautiful day in Bend, Oregon!
We started the day off with a "Pickleball Tournament" in my parent's "sportscourt." It was Justin and my mom VS. my brother Taylor and my dad. I am not sure what the ending score was, but I am sure it was pretty close. Trey tried to get involved in any way possible. Mostly causing interferences!

Trey decided he would start a water fight with Grandpa Bend. Trey was ruthless!

The afternoon ended with the movie Kung Fu Panda. Derek and Grandpa Bend invited us to the show and Trey really enjoyed it. Justin and I are big Jack Black fans, so it was a perfect show for the family!

NorthWest Crossing Hullabaloo!

6.27.08
A new "community" in Bend called "NorthWest Crossing" was holding an "unofficial kickoff to summer" and we thought we would join in the festivities. They had a live band, food, and the best of all: A movie in the park. The movie which was playing was The BEE MOVIE, one of Trey's favorite movies of all times!

This community is beautiful. They have huge, gorgeous homes, eateries, shops, and a great community park where the movie was going to be played. For the evening, there were drummers, an astro jump, free face painting, and free candy, snacks, and glow sticks. We enjoyed the sour sticks and redvines the best!

-the drummers-

-Trey and Justin waiting for the movie to begin. Notice the redvines, sour sticks, and glow stick in hand. Trey was in heaven!-

Derek was such a trooper. He hadn't felt good all day, and kind of took a turned for the worse during the movie. My mom almost took him home in fear of him barfing in front of everyone (which he eventually did, but NOT in front of the huge crowd) but he didn't want to leave.

It was so fun to watch one of Trey's favorite movies with our family.

On a side note, as we were driving through downtown Bend on our way home, I realized we didn't have Justin's cell phone. We searched and searched, and could think of one other place it just might be: Buried in the grass at the park. We moved our blankets and camping chairs to the back of the crowd incase Derek threw up during the movie, the phone might had fallen out of our pockets.

Justin and my Dad went back to the park, with Justin's wussy keychain flashlight in hand and searched through the grass. Sure enough, there it was, right where we had thought it might be. Our prayers were answered.

A final Farewell to Ben and Hannah

6.27.08
We had the opportunity to spend the afternoon with Ben and Hannah before they moved to Port Orchard, WA. Their parents were busy packing and loading the moving truck, so we had them over for some water fun and relaxation. Trey and Hannah having a water fight Indoors for some relaxation with PBS Trey wanted to stay awake so bad, but he gave into sleep. Please be patient with this video, I think it is quite cute!

Athletic Club of Bend

6.26.08
One of our favorite things to do while in Bend is to go to the Athletic Club of Bend. Derek rock climbs, plays basketball, and swims on Thursday nights with one of his tutors and my mom. We try to join them while we are in town.

This was the first time in 10 years that I have taken advantage of their outdoor pool. Trey loved it, the weather was perfect, and the depth of the pool was perfect for him!

After swimming outside, we went inside where we were joined by Derek, his tutor Felicity and Taylor to swim in the indoor pool. Derek is getting to be such a great swimmer.

Bend Homecoming!

6.25.08
We made it to Bend with our Satelite Radio blaring, two big boys in the back seat and two happy moms!
Some events on our drive:
-Trey said he had to go to the bathroom while driving in the middle of no where. I quickly pulled off the side of the road, not realizing how fast I was driving, the incline of the embankment or the gravel, I just about rolled us off of HWY 20. My mom and I couldn't stop screaming. Well, probably mostly me! I thought for SURE Trey was going to pee his pants. I got us out fine, got Trey taken care of, and quickly said a little prayer to myself. SO SCARY!

-While stopping for lunch in Burns, OR at the local McDonalds, there were two cowboys and their leading ladies parked in the parking lot with a HUGE trailor full of horses. We took some extra time on our little break to pet each horse and ask them what their names were. The cowboys were so sweet.

-I witnessed a huge trailor fill his tank up with $350 dollars worth of gas at the local gas station in a very little town. I am sure that trailor made their day.

Upon arriving to Bend, this was the scene.

Two of Trey's favorite things to see and do in Bend. Uncle Robert for one, and riding the 6-wheeler. Trey was so excited!

1998 Bend Senior High School Reunion

Class of '98, here we come!!!
Trey and I are off to Bend to celebrate my 10 year reunion. We are traveling with my mom and Derek and Justin will be meeting us in Bend for the big night!
Who would have thought 10 years could go by so quickly?!

Thank you MOM!

To the BEST mom in the universe.
I am so blessed to have you!
Thank you for watching our crazy Trey-Man for two whole days while Justin and I worked. I know he loved every moment he spent with you and Derek, thank you for taking such great care of him.
Thank you also for getting our home "show-ready" for the buyer. We could have NOT shown the house if it wasn't for your cleaning and straightening up.
I appreciate all you do for us and love you so much!

THANK YOU SOMMERS

6.25.08
A huge "THANK YOU" to SOMMERS today! Not only is she one of my bestest friends, she is also the BEST Massage Therapists ever!

After throwing my back out on Trey's Birthday, I was in dire need of some serious help. I couldn't take medicine, and don't trust Chiropractors, (NO OFFENSE to anyone that may be reading this!) so I asked Sommers if she could work her magic. She did! I felt awesome leaving her home! She is amazing!

Thank you Sommers for taking such good care of me and helping me. Love you!!!
