Gingerbread House

12.6.08
A Christmas tradition we enjoy is decorating Gingerbread houses. I purchased this Gingerbread house way before Thanksgiving, and not a day went by that Trey didn't ask to put it together. The day finally arrived and Trey was so excited. Trey was in charge of putting gum balls on the roof, UNTIL the roof caved in. From that moment on, our little house could not be saved. (That just left the gingerbread for me to eat, and the candy for Trey!) If you look closely, Trey had already been into candy earlier in the day. Gotta love the chocolate smeared on his face!

Turkey Bowl

11.27.08
Something Justin enjoys participating in every Thanksgiving: The Turkey Bowl. He said it is his yearly chance to play football! He woke up a little before 8am and met some men at the local elementary school and had a great time. Trey and I snuck down to the game and took some shots! (Justin didn't even know we had gone! I am sure if he did, he would have given us a wave of some sort!)

Meeting GiGi, G.Pa and "Aunt" Amy

11.26.08
We are so blessed to have family members willing and excited to travel from all different states just to come celebrate Thanksgiving and Tian's blessing with us. GiGi, G.Pa (my grandparents) drove up from Salt Lake, and brought my cousin Amy from Rexburg with them! Amy's from Loving, Texas (I love(no pun intended!!!) the name of their town!) and is going to BYU-Idaho! They arrived the day before Thanksgiving; I was so anxious to introduce Tian to them!

Tian and G.Pa's meeting for the 1st time!

Tian's blessing outfit

11.25.08
What a busy week Tian has ahead of him. He will be meeting many of our family members for the first time, celebrating Thanksgiving, and he will be blessed by Justin in our ward. Here is a little preview of Tian in his Blessing Outfit! I have been looking forward to the day of putting him in it! I searched far and wide, literally, for this outfit, and eventually found it on a website I would have NEVER thought of finding a blessing outfit on. It truly was an answer to my prayers that I found it!

(silly picture I know, he looks like his is showing off his fist, as if he is threatening someone with it!)

Thanksgiving Activity Days

11.25.08
Today was my first Activity Days at my home and I had a great time. I was a bit intimidated at first I will admit, but my little entertainer, the Trey-Man put everyone at ease with his rendition of Gabriella's, "I've Got To Go My Own Way" from High School Musical; complete with singing and choreography. I think the girls LOVED it! (Just kidding! Actually, I think they were a bit annoyed, but he at least made them laugh!)
We made turkeys out of apples, almonds, peanuts (still in the shell. THANK YOU BROOK! You were a complete life saver! Thanks for the peanuts!), and construction paper!

My friend Janae who is helping with the older girls in our group! She was a great help!

We had apple cobbler for a snack (note to self, hardly any of the girls liked apple cobbler, but did gobble (no pun intended!) up the vanilla ice cream!). I should have just served peanuts because half of the girls hovered over the garbage can and cracked peanuts to eat.

To end the evening, some of the girls held Tian, the others chased Trey around. When the girls left, Trey was sad and very sweaty!

Tian @ 10 weeks

What a smiley guy. I just love him!

(can't you just imagine him squealing during this picture? Look at that curled tongue!)

He is quite the flirt and his head is getting much stronger!
He still eats about 4 ounces, but can go for a little longer stretches. He wakes up about 2 times a night, the 3rd time he wakes up is about 6:30am, and we call it a morning at that point! He usually wakes up so happy and bright-eyed, I can't help but greet him with a smile!

Knight 2009

Psycho I know, but Trey has his Halloween costume for next year and I thought I would share a little preview. He hasn't wanted to take it off; taking naps with it and wanting to put it on first thing in the morning. I finally hid the costume in hopes he would forget about it until October 2009!

Tian @ 9 weeks

Look Sommers, Tian can fit into the outfit you found us!
Tian is movin' on up into this 3 month clothes and is lovin' it!
Smiling is Tian's new thing, and if you look closer, you can see his dimple on the left side of his cheek! So cute and sweet little Tian is!

Annual Thanksgiving with the Gerratt's and the Blad's

11.22.08
What started 6 years ago still goes strong! Our annual Thanksgiving dinner was held at the Blad's. Wonderful time spent with friends and yummy food! Thanks Blads for opening your home to us, and thank you Sommers for putting it together! We love our time spent with our friends!

Our clan keeps growing and growing

Pottery for Santa

11.21.08
Trey is WAY into the whole Santa thing. He asks frequently, "Where does Santa live?" "Who is Santa's mommy?" "What is Santa doing right now?" We have told him we are going to leave Santa cookies on Christmas Eve, and I thought we could possibly MAKE Santa his very own Santa's Cookies plate. So, off to the pottery place to paint Santa a plate. Justin got way into the whole painting thing and thought Trey needed his own plate. So, we ended up making a plate for Trey (because JUSTIN had his own personalized plate growing up he says!) and a plate for Santa!

Look at all those breakables behind Trey. SCARY~!

Thank You Read Young

11.20.08
I was talking with my friend Janaeabout an activity for Activity Days in January when we thought of a perfect idea for displaying a calendar. We needed a sheet of metal for this craft and was thinking about where we could get metal. We were thinking about our resources, and I thought about a guy in our ward! He works with metal and rod iron and I called him to see if he could order us some metal. He said he had scrap metal in his shop that he could GIVE us! What a generous, nice, giving man! We went to his shop (which was so huge and amazing!) and he cut 20 pieces of 8x8 metal for our girls! What a great guy!

Read's machine at work!

While Janae and I enjoyed watching Read's machine work its magic, Trey enjoyed playing with Jaxsin, his "nursery friend" as he calls Jaxsin!

Thanks Read for all you have done for us and our girls.
Now, I can't wait for January to roll around so we could do our craft with our cute little Activity Day girls!

The Letter "L"

11.18.08
Trey was laying next to Tian under Tian's activity gym as I was sitting at our kitchen table. Trey yelled, "Look mom, a letter "L." And THIS is what I saw:

Their bodies made a letter "L."

Trey in Downtown Nampa

11.18.08
When we went to breakfast with the Stevens in downtown Nampa, I was amazed at the old school brick and store fronts Nampa has to offer. There is a red door, I think it belongs to a pub, that I have been keeping my eye on. I have always thought it would be perfect for a picture, SO, I took Trey out this morning to take his picture; with promises of "hot cocoa" (which Trey has said is the "nick-name to hot chocolate!") at the Market Limone!
