guitar lessons

Trey has been fascinated with guitars for a while now. While playing in my brother Taylor's(age 21)room, he thought he had died and gone to heaven when he came across Taylor's guitar. Taylor tried to teach Trey how to play, but Trey was more interest in watching Taylor play. Trey also thought it was funny to drop the guitar pick into the center of the guitar. Taylor has always been a sweet uncle to Trey.

D&D Ranch Terrebonne, Oregon

10.6.07 Between General Conference sessions on Saturday afternoon we visited the cutest ranch in Terrebonne, Oregon named D&D Ranch. http://www.ddranch.net/
When we arrived to the ranch, there was a line of old weathered red radio flyer wagon that we plopped Trey into!

We quickly came across about 12 of the cutest "oreo-looking" piglets I have ever seen. I thought for sure Trey would jump out of the wagon and try to chase the piglets, but instead, he was terrified! Personally, I wanted to grab one of the pigs, hide it under my coat and sneak it home because it was the cutest thing ever! (THEN, I saw it's mother and I just about puked!)

There were so many animals to pet and chase. Chickens, bunnies, llamas, cows, dogs, goats and ducks are just a few of animals on the ranch. Who did Trey pet? The bunny!

The D&D Ranch also had a sunflower field with pumpkins galore. It was a perfect afternoon adventure, we loved spending time with Grandma, Grandpa and Derek!

Derek's Soccer Practice

Derek and his soccer partner Alyssa

Trey and Grandpa Bend

10.5.07 Friday evening in Bend, Oregon was spent at Derek's Soccer Practice. There is a great girl's soccer team who have decided to stay after their own Friday evening practices to help with Derek's soccer team. Derek's soccer "partner" is named Alyssa and is the sweetest girl ever. She is so good with Derek, encouraging him, making sure he understands what he is supposed to do, I even found them holding hands running for a ball! So sweet, if only all 14 year old girls were as caring and open minded as Alyssa!

athletic club of bend

10.4.07 Trey and I accompanied my mom and Derek to the Athletic Club of Bend for some of Derek's tutoring sessions. Trey enjoyed "dribbling" the basketball on the court while Derek and his tutor shot baskets. We also got to watch Derek scale the rock wall. Derek is a phenomenal rock climber, all the people waiting to climb the wall were amazed at his skill and speed. While at the rock wall, a camera crew was filming-hopefully they got some great shots of Derek because he did GREAT! Trey sat so still while watching Derek. You could tell he was proud of his uncle. After Derek reached the top of the wall, Trey, me and Derek's tutor all cheered for him. A girl waiting to use the wall (who I later found out was a regular at the rock climbing wall and seemed to know Derek)looked at me and said, "Do you know Derek?" I said, "Yeah, he is my younger brother!" I am one proud sista!
Our visit to the Athletic Club of Bend ended in the pool, showing "Gramma Bend" Trey's swimming tricks! I swore to my mother Trey knew how to kick, blow bubbles and reach his arms, but he just wanted to jump in and out of the pool!

lunch: mexican

10.4.07 Whenever in Bend, I have to hang out with my friend Abbey and her daughter Delaney! Abbey and I met when we were 15, got our drivers licenses a day a part, were cheerleaders together, suffered broken bones with eachother (she was spending the night at my home when I broke my arm on my parents trampoline. She tried to feed me popcorn "to make me feel better." I ALWAYS bring that up to her, I am sure she LOVES to hear it so frequently!) pregnant together, and now we are mothers together. We talk at least once a day, but it is always nice to talk to her in person.
Abbey, Delaney and I (Trey was at Grandma's home, taking a nap!) had lunch at a mexican restaraunt that she has been talking about. They made us the most amazing guacomole. YUM!

bend, oregon HERE WE COME!

10.3.07 It is always nice to return "home" from a month or so of being away. Trey and I began our trip on Wednesday and made it to Bend in about 5 in a half hours!
We began our visit with a game of UNO with Derek, who was busy working with his tutors. Trey loves Derek, loves following him around, doing EVERYTHING Derek does, so Trey felt VERY honored to be working with Derek and his tutor.

1, 2, 3, BLAST OFF!

10.2.07 Justin and his brother James are the coolest dads ever! They planned a rocket-launching evening for the kids! This was the 2nd attempt-the 1st attempt ended with a rocket landing in Oregon (we think!!!) with no parachute in sight. The 2nd attempt was a success, thanks to reading the instructions and cheering from children!

sunday naps

I couldn't resist posting these pictures. These were taken after a Sunday afternoon nap, which is something we often take advantage of. Having church begin at 9am makes for an early, rushed morning, naps are a perfect way for us to unwind!

Trey Loves Fergie!

Picture this:
Driving down Eagle Road in Eagle, Idaho on a late Saturday afternoon! (All of you familiar with Eagle road in Idaho KNOW how busy it is!) Trey's FAVORITE song comes on (Fergie's "Big Girls Don't Cry") and Trey starts to really belt out the lyrics. What do I do, I grab the camera and start shooting. Call it a driving violation? Probably! I couldn't help it. Check it out, it is to die for!!!
