Tian's Words

10.9.09
As of today, October 9th, these are the words Tian has said:

Ball
Mama
Dada
Bye Bye (said yesterday to Auntie Sommers and then later on to Justin!)
Oh, Oh (usually when he drops something from his high chair)
Yeah

We think you are amazing Tian! Go Tian, conquere the world!

Linder Farms

10.7.09
The first field trip of the school year was to Linder Farms! Linder Farms is by far one of our favorite places for the Fall. Our whole family was stoked to be going to Linder Farms with Trey's class. Justin took some time off of work during the day to accompany us, which was such a special thing! He is so thoughtful and supportive, I love you Justin!
Enough mushy stuff, on to the pumpkin patch!
The beginning of our Pumpkin Adventure was in the straw bail maze for some running around

The straw bail maze.
Trey's friend Tyler!

Next was a hay ride through all of the different pumpkin patches. The kids were instructed to look at all of the different shapes and colors the pumpkins had. There was one patch that Justin and I noticed had a bad case of Pumpkin Warts. So sad.

Trey insisted on sitting "by his friends" for the hayride and sat as far away from us, the embarrassing parents has he could. Thank you Jessyka and Alyce for making sure he didn't bail off the tractor!

Trey sitting between both Keaton/Keatyn's! Keaton is his friend from swimming lessons/Roarings Springs, and Keatyn will be his wife some day (if Trey has his way.)!!!! Check out the way he is smiling at her. Is he 'flirting' already? AHHHHHHHHH! (one afternoon before a nap, Trey whispered to me, "Mom, can I marry Keatyn B. after my mission?")
Tian was very enthrauled by the hayride. He would point to the pumpkins and make sounds through that silly pacifier. (since he has been teething lately, that pacifier is his new best friend.)
What a supportive Dad! I just love him so much, and love the father he is!
Miss Des explaining the different pumpkin imperfections! She is the greatest, and notice Trey is right by her side AND right next to his future bride! He loves his teachers and the cute girls in his class!
Trey listening intently to the cycle of a Pumpkin.
Looking at a picture of the Corn Maze. This years theme is Boise State.
Tian walking through the Pumpkin Patch. Nice hoodie huh?! Thanks to Auntie Sommers and a total snob at a Carl's Jr, I will be forever grateful to Sommers and her boldness! (A snob eating lunch at Carl's Jr. had a son with the cutest hoodie on. Sommers was so brave and asked her where she got her son's cute jacket. The snob's reply, "In Europe" and quickly turned away. Sommers and I have always looked for a jacket like that ever since! Sommers found this cute hoodie and gave it to Tian for his 1st birthday.)
My friend Alyce and her sweet little guy Tyler! Isn't he the cutest?!

As I was taking this picture of Tian, the owner of Linder Farms walked by and asked if I would post this picture on their Facebook account! Well, OF COURSE! Notice the mud on the bottom of Tian's shoes? Yes, proof our little guy IS walking!

Trey and the Sandbox

10.1.09
Trey has enjoyed playing in the sandbox more now that Tian will play with him. Some of Trey's favorite activities to do in the sandbox/playstructure area are swing, dig, climb up the slide, and pretend he is Tarzan by 'swinging' from a rope that is attached at the top of the slide. This 'fun' activity scares the life out of me as the vision of Trey hanging himself swims through my head.

Tian and the Sandbox

10.1.09
I secretly think Tian enjoys the sandbox more then Trey! I also secretly think Tian is braver then Trey. Tian would play in the sandbox all day long, he wouldn't care if I was outside with him or not. Trey on the other hand is a little more cautious. If Trey is outside, Tian desires to be outside.

Tian wanting ever so badly to climb up the slide just like Trey is. Notice his pj's, it is just easier to put him in pj's then have to worry about sand in the socks and shoes. Plus, he is warmer! (the sun is shining but it is NOT warm!)
Instead, he just drove a car up and down it.

I was waiting for him to eat the sand out of his pail, but to my surprise, he didn't!

Tian loves to dig, throw, eat, and crawl through the sand. We love you Tian!

Horseback Riding

9.27.09
After home teaching us, Justin Reynolds invited us over for roasting 'smores and a promise to pet their horses. Trey has enjoyed watching their horses on our walks, and has asked if he could one day feed them. Today was his opportunity, and of course he couldn't have been more excited.

First, he had to dress for the occasion. He found his cowboy hat, he had to wear a brown shirt because cowboys wear brown (I didn't know that!), his attire was complete with a handkerchief around his neck (Trey's idea, who would have ever thought a 4 year old would think of all of this) and a belt from his Pirate Costume because "it had a belt buckle on it." Around his handkerchief he also wore his Pirate Patch and his pirate necklace (don't ask me why he had to have those two items, he was just necessary I guess.) His outfit was finished off with a nice pair of cowboy boots.

He brought some carrots and an apple to feed to the horses. He was so excited!

To Trey's surprise, Justin let him ride his "prized" horse, Val!

Justin leading Trey and "Val!"

I was a bit on the nervous side. Trey only had this little tuff of hair to hold onto, no saddle and NO horse experience (other then the little pony rides at the fair.) Justin, our Justin, walked along side Trey the entire time. HE was nervous too!
Look at how proud our Treyman looks!
And off they go, into the sunset!

After horseback riding, Nicole, Justin's wife built a fire in their backyard complete with 'smore fixings! She had the greatest idea for 'smores! She used Kebler graham cracker chocolate cookies with a marshmallow in the middle! They were YUMMY!

Thank you Reynolds for inviting us over for an adventurous evening!

Go Trey Go

9.27.09
Go Diego Go has been one of Trey's favorite cartoons for quite some time. For Trey's Birthday, Grandma Bend gave him a Diego outfit, complete with binoculars, a canteen, compass and Swiss army knife-type of hand held device. This afternoon, Trey decided to dress as Diego!

Notice the watch upon Trey's wrist? His outfit wouldn't have been complete if it wasn't for the watch that tells him when an animal is in trouble.

Also, take a look at those Ghost pj bottoms! Trey has been wanting to wear these, but I told him he needed to wait until it was closer to Halloween. Well, he couldn't wait any longer.

Earlier in the day, Trey donned his church outfit (look at his cute pink shirt in the Trey's Goin' Green blog post) and then he put on a Monkey costume from Grandma Marie for our Home Teacher's viewing pleasure. His third outfit was the Diego outfit, and lastly, he dressed as a cowboy for horseback riding! (more on that one later!)

Trey's Goin' Green

9.27.09
It is pretty pathetic when your 4 year old begs you to get a recycling bin. Trey has been walking around our home, looking for things to smash flat and place out for recycling. He even goes to great lengths to empty plastic water bottles by begging us to drink up so he could have something to recycle.
Glad someone in our household is goin' green!

Commentary from Trey

10.4.09
We were driving to Tian's 1 year well child check up and just so happened to pass the new Nampa shopping center which has JC Penny and Sports Authority. As we were driving past the shopping center, we saw a man leading a camel through the parking lot. I shouted to Trey, "Look at that camel Trey." He asked if we could go see it, I told him we could if the camel was still there after Tian's appointment. As we drove off, Trey said, "I think that camel is from Egypt. Sand and Camels are from Egypt." I tried not to giggle.

After Tian's appointment, sure enough, the camel was still in the parking lot. Keeping my word, we drove through the JC Penny parking lot and saw the camel, surrounded by a Sheriff and some small children. I soon realized that the camel and the Sheriff were greeting under privileged children for a back-to-school shopping spree and we were welcomed. I quickly pulled a "U"-ey around the parking lot and sped off. Trey asked, "Why can't we go pet the camel like the other children." I didn't know how to put it, so I was very honest. "Trey, those children don't have much money. They are going shopping for school clothes, back packs and shoes." He then asked if they were from Egypt and I said, "No, they are probably from Nampa."

When Justin got home from work, he said, "Dad, we saw a camel but we couldn't pet it. The camel was for kids from Nampa with no money." Justin looked at me and said, "WHAT is he talking about?!"

-----------------------

I was bathing Trey and Tian in the bathtub, something they enjoy a little too much. Water, toys and bubbles, how could you not enjoy it?! It was time to get Trey out of the tub, so I said, "Let's get out Trey" as I held out a towel for him. His response, "I COME IN PEACE!"

--------------------

"Mom, I have a hypothesis. Tian is smaller then you." He then said, "Dad, I have a hypothesis. Mom is shorter then you."
