Cirque Du Soleil-Saltimbanco

5.22.08
To celebrate our 8th wedding anniversary, Justin and I enjoyed a night of high-flying entertainment! I had gotten Justin tickets to see Cirque Du Soleil, which was in BOISE of all places! Thanks to James and Tina for watching Trey-man while we enjoyed a wonderful night, celebrating our 8 years as a married couple and to get all of our wiggles out prior to our long flight to Cancun!

This was one of Justin's favorite performers! I secretly think Justin wishes he was as cool and slick on a bike as this man. This man was amazing, he could stand on his bike, do flips off of it, jump from the handle bars to the bike seat WHILE it was moving in a perfect circle-AMAZING! Justin's co-worker had attended the show the night before and he said this same performer had tried to do a back flip from the handle bars to the bike seat and missed, landing on his head. I was surprised he did so well after such a fall from the night before!

Honestly, who can have so much strength and body control to hang from these huge poles, keeping your body straight and in perfect formation. Some of these performers would climb these poles, and then do a back flip from one pole to another, catching themselves with just their legs. Scared the heck out of me! I actually found myself jumping and shrilling throughout most of the night, I was just fearing for these performers lives!

I think Trey would have been a little nervous, there were some serious costumes, some that were cute, some not so friendly. In a few years, we will be more then ready to take the Trey-man, but for tonight, we enjoyed a night to ourselves.

Thanks again James and Tina SOOOOOOOO much for watching Trey. We really appreciate you taking such great care of our little man!

Horse Trotting to Cancun!

5.18.08
Clearly Trey thinks he is leaving for Cancun, Mexico on the back of a black horse he has fondly nicknamed "Spirit." Cowboy hat and all, Trey is ready for his long ride to Cancun because he can't wait for the airplane to take us. 6 more days and counting, and this cowboy is out of the country and enjoying some sun and adventure!

The sad face appeared after he was told that our trip to Mexico will be put on hold for another 6 days.

1st day of Roaring Springs!

5.17.08
2nd year and counting, we join the crowds at Roaring Springs for their FIRST day of the season! I tried to get there before Justin and Trey so I could lay out! I laid out for about 10 minutes before getting completely bored and wishing they were with me! I treated myself to a Snicker's Icecream bar, to attribute to my Shammu physique and sat patiently for my little men!
Once the boys arrived, we compared our fun adventures from the night before, my book club retreat, Justin's first ever camping experience with Trey, and then it was off to the lazy river for some relaxation.
It was so nice to have Justin along. He could take Trey to the wave pool and down some toddler slides. Last year I took Trey down a slide that would always shoot me off the end of it and land me flat on my booty, eventually leaving a bruise and a sore back. This year I decided against the sore back and the bruised booty!

Where's Trey and Justin? Well, there are only TWO little ones in this shot, both are wearing bright yellow life vests, and just as a hint: Trey is NOT the little boys with BRIGHT red hair!

We had a fabulous time with some serious hot weather (90+ degrees) and some serious sun. Before heading out to Roaring Springs, I quickly sprayed myself with some sunscreen and missed some SERIOUSLY obvious spots. Many noticed the next day at church and a few even commented on my sunstreaked skin. NOT like I tried to miss the side of my neck or the underside of my left arm! It just happened!

Trey's sun garb. One mother actually came up to me and asked if the sunglasses and the sunhat helped protect Trey from sunburns. Are you for real lady? Oh my goodness!

"Thumb's Up" to a great first day of the summer!

Book Club Retreat!

5.16 and 5.17.08
The 1st ever Book Club Retreat. Amy's parents so generously invited us to their beautiful cabin in Cascade, Idaho for dinner, book discussion, a movie, and a delicious breakfast!

Alyce, Tendra, little Brennen and I all piled into Justin's car and took the trek to Cascade. I was so worried I was going to make everyone carsick, the roads aren't the straightest, but everyone reassured me my driving was fine!

When we arrived, we were taken back by the beautiful view the cabin had. What a beautiful cabin Amy's parents have.

This is their backyard. Beautiful huh?!

We were greeted by Amy, her parents, and the rest of the Book Club Babes. After taking a tour of the cabin, we sat down to a delicious dinner and discussed The 5 Love Languages. We took a quiz with 30 questions which was supposed to determine which Love Language we spoke and discussed different aspects of each love language. After the discussion, I realized I would love for me and Justin to read the book together. Better yet, LISTEN to the book on CD while we drive to Portland the following weekend! Mental note, go to Barnes and Noble to buy the CD!

After the great discussion, it was about 10pm and a group of us gals went outside on the deck and admired the moon and planet saturn through George, Amy's fathers amazing astronomy equipment. The planet Saturn was absolutely amazing! How beautiful our galaxy truly is!

We retreated to the basement where we set up our sleeping arrangements. Thank you Alyce for putting up with Shammu on your air mattress. We enjoyed a funny movie (I actually fell asleep through most of it, but if anyone knows me just SLIGHTLY, this should not be taken as an offense because it happens quite regularly. I never can stay away through a movie past 10pm!) and chatted until about 2 or 3. What a neat evening to spend with woman, who all share the same beliefs, love for books and adventure!

Alyce, Saturday morning admiring the view!

Saturday morning was spent on the cabin's deck, admiring the view and feasting on a yummy breakfast.

Book Club Babes: from Left to Right Erin, Amy, Vicki, Alyce, Natalie, Ann, Shammu (ME!) and Tendra!

We drove home earlier then the rest of the girls. Each of us had a full day ahead, and we didn't want to miss out on anything! Alyce had many soccer games, I had a day at Roaring Springs and was hoping to beat Justin and Trey to it, and Tendra had a day of shopping with just ONE little one while her daughters were at their grandmas and her sons were with Carter at the campout!

Thank you Greenfields and Amy for putting this wonderful weekend together. It will be remembered!

Father-n-Son's Stake Campout!

5.16 and 5.17.08
Trey and Justin's 1st ever Father-n-Son's Campout! I know Justin has been looking forward to taking Trey camping for years now, and the day finally came. The camping spot: Given's Hotsprings. Justin got off work really early to go reserve "the best" camping spot for our pop-up trailer. Trey was stoked to go camping, fishing and swimming with not only his dad, but with his uncle James and cousins Jared and Jacob! Justin said he did great, had fun fishing, was a little nervous swimming in the hotsprings and slept really well in the trailer!
Here are some pictures Justin "staged!" He said he had forgotten to take pictures until the last minute, so he staged some pictures! I think they are humerous and too cute!

Trey riding between his two oldest boy cousins, Jared (on the Left) and Jacob on the right. Trey is REALLY enjoying is favorite juice, BUG JUICE (it is NASTY!) and it looks like he had a yummy dinner, by the looks of the remains on his upper lip!

Trey demonstrating how he went fishing!

Trey showing us where he slept in the pop-up trailer. Justin said he was worried all night Trey was going to roll off the bed or get stuck in some little corner. How we both worry about the same thing.

This was taken after Trey went swimming in the nearby hot springs. Justin said he lost his balance too many times in the 2ft deep water which really startled him.

Thanks Justin for taking Trey for the evening. This was the FIRST EVER night away from Trey. As Trey was strapped in his carseat, ready for his big adventure, I said goodbye and tried to give him a hug, as the carseat was making it difficult. He grabbed the sides of my face and said, "I love you mom" as he gave me a kiss. I just about started to bawl. THEN, I realized I had an adventure to embark on myself!!!

Thanks again Justin for being the world's greatest father!

Dad's Buried Treasure

5.14.08
As I was washing dishes, I hear my name being called from the backyard. "Come outside with the camera!" Justin had buried Trey in the sandbox and had to get a picture! Trey loved being buried, but I think he enjoyed breaking out of his sand-tomb like a superhero more!

Trey-Man the Sand-Man

5.14.08
Trey-Man can easily be nicknamed the "Sand-Man!" I have a feeling we will be playing in this sandbox for most of the summer!

"SANDay" Afternoon

5.11.08
What does Trey do after church? He grabs a fork from the kitchen and runs out to play in the sandbox IN his Sunday best!
