Trey had a Choice!

1.15.08
Trey's choice was to eat breakfast, or take a bath! Of course, it was to take a bath, he hates to eat, he is picky, and quite frankly, eating takes up too much of his time! Today we were off to Miss Michelle's house, and I am grateful he wanted a bath. He needed one, and I never want to have THAT kid that smells, is dirty, or is the talk of daycare! So, after his bath, I wrapped him up in his favorite bathrobe, and started getting his clothes ready for the day. He wasn't about to take off his bathrobe, and after fighting to put his clothes on, he wanted to put his bathrobe OVER his clothes.

Look at that major 'tude and stinky-eye!!!

Then, in a blink of an eye, I swear, he turned into our dog Cooper. After we give Cooper a bath, he does what we call the "crazy run." He runs around the house as if trying to dry off. THAT is what Trey did. He ran from room to room, trying to either dry off or make me dizzy!

One might think I had all the time in the world, searching for my crazy child from room to room- I do NOT! That crazy boy never stops!

A co-worker the other day asked if Trey is "just as mellow as he used to be." I looked at her and laughed (I now hope she didn't take offense to me laughing in her face!) I said, "I think he saved all of his energy up his first 18 months of life and is now using it as if he is going to go empty!"

Needless to say, we lost the bathrobe and Trey went to Miss Michelle's home!

Tiger Eyes!

1.14.08
Minutes before my friend Jessica was to arrive at our home to help me with my blog, Trey decided to go into disguise as a Tiger!

I thought he was washing his hands, but he never ceases to surprise me!
He had gotten into my eye liner and eye shadow and dressed himself up as a tiger!

Can you tell he had just been caught?

I quickly grabbed some wipes and scrubbed his face like mad, in fear Jessica might see his face and wonder, "What the heck do YOU guys do for family night?!"
Luckily, I don't think she even noticed, I don't remember her mentioning anything! Whew!

Thanks Jessica!!!

1.14.08
A huge THANK YOU to Jessica Dribnak for helping me with my cute blog! You are the greatest, I really, REALLY appreciate you sacrificing your time and energy in my behalf! Thanks Kip for letting her come over and help me!

THANK YOU!!!!!!

Sunday Nite, Game Nite

1.13.08
Justin's family is VERY into games and I think Justin misses having game nights. B.T. (before Trey!) we entertained quite a bit, but haven't much in the last 3 years. SO, we decided to have some friends over for a game night!

First, we invited Chelsea and Shane Stevens! Chelsea and I went to high school together, and it is amazing how similar our husbands are!

We then invited Ryan, Adrienne and Caleb Peterson over. Justin and Ryan work together on projects here and there at work, and we actually attended an Engineering conference with them last May. Adrienne, Me and the Boys (our sons!) spent an afternoon cruising around Jackson Hole and an evening in the parking lot of a restaurant the engineering group was eating at! (definitely NOT a kid friendly place by any means, and to top it off, it was RIGHT on the busy main street of Jackson Hole. I thought either Trey was going to die that evening due to running out in traffic, or I would die due to a heart attack or stroke. It was that evening that I told Justin I was NOT up for having a second child for a very long time! And dining with a two year old was OUT of the question for quite a few months!) (poor Ryan, he does NOT look pleased at my camera-happy style! Sorry Ryan!)

Cute Caleb! Check out those eyes?!

And lastly, Justin's friend and co-worker Vic. Sorry, but the picture of Vic had a very strange picture of Justin in it. Imaging Justin, very intently, describing a card game, and you have a strange and concentrated game face. I thought he would be very unhappy with me if I posted that picture!

We played Apples to Apples and then BANG! The two boys enjoyed themselves, playing cars, guitars, and watched High School Musical 2! I later caught a picture of Trey and Caleb playing "Rockstar Band," including a picture of a shirtless Trey. I guess he had gotten hot!

We broke out the chocolate fondue fountain once again and snacked on sweets! Trey really enjoyed the peanut M&M's, but that shouldn't surprise anyone. Who DOESN'T like them?!

A late Delivery from Santa

1.12.08
We have been wanting a play structure for our backyard for years, and finally we found a great deal on Craig's List we couldn't refuse. Thanks to our friend's Mike Cook, Lanson Baumgartner, and Justin's brother James, the play structure was taken apart and transported into our backyard!

Trey tried the best he could to help Justin put it back together, but we eventually went inside and watched Justin work hard from our warm home.

As you can see, it was very cold outside! Justin finished putting it back together, just in time for sunset.

The best slide yet!

1.11.08
By Friday afternoon, Trey was feeling much better, so I bundled him up in about 4 layers, got on his sweet new snowboarding pants, and we set out to play on his snow slide. We were so surprised with this snow, we haven't purchased a sled. So what did we use: a deflated beach ball! (Justin's slick idea!)
Two nights prior Justin had poured water down the slide to make it more slick, and you could really tell what a difference that water made! Trey loved the new slide, snotty nose/icky ears and all! Justin got home just in time to see the Trey-man in action!

I Have a New Love

1.9.08
A NEW LOVE for Steve and Barry's. I have only heard wonderful things about them, have only seen their clothes on line because we didn't have a store in Idaho, UNTIL January 4th. You KNOW I was going NUTS, I hadn't gotten over to the big grand opening, so when Justin got home from work, he kindly, sweetly, and eagerly let me take off for the new adventure of a new store!

So this is one of my purchases! Actually, a picture of TWO of my purchases. I bought this in two sizes because I was in LOVE!
I told my mom I had bought a pair of p.j.'s that had skulls and crossbones on them. She said, "Rebecca, (in a concerned voice) have you gone Gothic?" (or something along those lines, maybe not being SOOOOOOo blunt!) NO, I am definitely not going Gothic, and have wondered myself why the skulls and crossbones are so appealing to me!
I came to the conclusion that I brings me fond memories of Radiology School.

Anyhow, I LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE Steve and Barry's and am SOOOOOOOOOOOO excited to have it so close to home!

The night owl screams!

EARLY 1.10.08
Trey woke up at 3:00 am screaming and crying. He only wanted to be held UPRIGHT and rocked. I knew he wasn't feeling well, but this was SOOOOOOOOO not like the sweet little Trey-Man we know and LOVE!

He finally calmed down and went to bed around 5:00 am and slept in for quite some time.

In the morning, he seemed great and dandy until he stuck his finger into his left ear. "What is THIS," he asked. I looked into his ear and what do I find, a pool of liquid. WWWWWWHHHHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAATTTTTTTT?

I gave him a bath and quickly called his Ears, Nose and Throat doctor who informed me that his tubes are working as they should, and he has an ear infection. (Hence, the nasty green nose two days prior, (check out the pictures of him in the snow, GREEN nose!) and the upset tummy the day prior!) We were to tie him down and shoove ear drops in his ears. (Just kidding, Dr. Beck did NOT tell us to tie him down, but the ear drops was true!) He hates the ear drops and I never know if they really get where they are supposed to.

So, off to Wally-World to pick up a new kind of ear drops and in search for a "duck toy." Bribery works well with the Trey-Man, and I told him he could pick out a toy to play with while we administer to his ears THREE times a day for at LEAST three days. So, a "duck toy" it was! (when we couldn't find even a TUB DUCK TOY, he settled on a set of 3 safari figurine animals! A Giraffe, an elephant, and something called a KUDU! I was on the phone with my friend Abbey at the time Trey picked out his toy and I said, "What the heck is a KUDU?!" She didn't have a clue either! It is some kind of African Antelope!) So, the toys worked and he was pretty cooperative!

Sick Day :(

1.9.08
Trey woke up with a sad little tummy bug that kept him near the toilet all day. He wasn't even interested in going outside and testing out his new snow slide. His request, the toilet, ALL DAY! So, I set up his toy tent (one he received, while in utero from Auntie Sommers, thanks Sommers!) in his room with his horses and cars! Poor little guy, this is so not like him!

Trey, Justin and the Largest SnowBear ever!

1.07.08
Justin and Trey built the largest SnowBear I think there could possibly be! It kind of reminded me of the Lava Bear we had outside of our Bend Senior High School building, but not so demented looking! (If you would like an impression of this sad looking Lava Bear, I would be glad to show you!) They really worked hard!

Snow Day :)

1.8.08
I came home from work, picked up a very happy Trey-Man, and ran home to play in the snow! I shoveled the driveway before Justin got home, thinking we could use the extra snow from the sidewalks and the driveway to a snow fort or snowman. Boy, did Justin show us some of his "skills!" He "constructed" an amazing snow slide, complete with stairs! It was so amazing, that I found teenage boys trying to slide down it in sleds the next morning! (and you better believe I put on a nasty mom face, ran out the front door in my p.j.'s and screamed at them, "That is for my 2 year old, NOT YOU!!!!)

Future Music Critic!

While at work this week, I was catching up on the latest smut in People Magazine. It was the end of the year issue, which sums up the top movies, tv shows and music. As I was looking at the music, a certain music list caught my eye!
This is what it stated:

The Top Ten Most Downloaded Songs from I-Tunes in 2007
1. Big Girls Don't Cry (Fergie)
2. Sweet Escape (Gwen Stefani)

I was in total shock! I knew Trey had great music taste, but for his two most favorite songs to make it on the Top Ten Most Downloaded songs from I-Tunes?! AMAZING!

His favorite song NOW is "Wind it Up" and it is from an artist I am not familiar with. We will see how this song fares on the Top Ten List for next year!

Boise Stampede!

1.5.08
Our friend Geoff Moore keeps the score for our local semi-pro Basketball team, the Stampede, and invited us to watch a basketball game! After Trey's nap, I told him we were going to be attending a basketball game that evening with Angie and Sydney, and he said, "Can I wear my basketball shirt?" We had bought a red Nike basketball shirt a few weeks earlier and just had never put it on him. He thought it was a perfect opportunity to wear it, so we couldn't pass it up!

We arrived at the arena and Angie informed us that the officials were not there, the game was delayed at least an hour because they were having to FLY the officials in. It was a perfect situation because we could sit and chat with Geoff before he had to work on the stats and Trey and Sydney could play before the game began.

I think one of the highlights of the game was when they were OBVIOUSLY trying to kill time and had a "dance-off" at center court. I have heard the Soulja Boy song dozens of times, and have heard of the "Soulja Boy Dance" but had never seen it in action. Well, one of the tallest, blackest players on our team got out in the center of the court and began to perform the Soulja Boy dance. He was AMAZING! Soon, there were other players out there dancing, as well as a ton of kids who OBVIOUSLY were serious Soulja Boy fans! I could have watched them all night, I was thoroughly entertained!

The officials made it, lugging their luggage across their shoulders, and the game began. Our team KILLED THEM!!!

Trey and Sydney enjoyed playing in the Astro-jump house as I tried to keep from falling on my face. Angie stood outside the screen wall as we played, she is pregnant and was much safer on the outside. Kids are so rough! I was that
nasty mom who was shielding her children from the rest of the crazy kids, giving the "stink eye" to any child that came remotely close to my kids!

We are so grateful to have friends we love spending time with. Angie and Geoff have been through just about everything with us, school, weddings, child rearing (Sydney and Trey were born on the same day!), birthday parties, swimming lessons, you name it, we have probably done it! We love you guys!

Sommers, Macy's and Marshall's family!

1.4.08
At the beginning of today I didn't realize what a busy and fun-filled day I had ahead of me! I had planned a shopping adventure with Sommers and Shaydon-Macy's was having their one-day only sale and I just can't pass up a sale at Macy's! Sommers and I share a love for Macy's that can't be compared, so they joined us for some serious shopping! Sommers has introduced me to the world of Hurley, and what a very hip brand it is for our little guys, SHE found the cutest Hurley outfits for little Shaydon, me, I only found a muscle tank for the summer! (which he will be sporting at Roaring Springs!!!! I can't wait!)
Next it was to the Junior department and then on the The Children's Place.
Trey had just about had enough, AND he woke up poor Shaydon, so I quickly said "goodbye" before there was any more destruction, and we headed home.
We had been home for about an hour and I got a phone call from my uncle Marshall who lives in Yakima. Marshall, and my aunt Kori, were taking my cousins Garrett and Crystal to Rexburg for college. They were stuck outside of La Grande due to road closures and was wondering if they could stop at our home for the night and then continue on their trek to Rexburg! Of course, ANYTIME and Anyone is welcome at our home.
Around 7:00 pm that evening, the troops made it safe and sound! We had a fun evening playing BANG! and eating Fondue! Garrett has an amazing voice, and played us a few tunes on his guitar! Trey is fascinated with Guitars, and when Trey heard Garrett play, "Hey There Delilah," I think he had found a new hero! He sang and danced while Garrett played, it was so sweet!
Early the next morning, the troops departed on their long adventure to Rexburg, to start their new college life. I personally had butterflies in my stomach, sending them out in the snowy weather, thinking about my time at school and what an anxious experience it was for me!

Boondocks with Beni!

1.3.08
While chatting with Sonya at work on the 2nd, I was inspired to take Trey to a new indoor playground! We invited our friends Benette and Megan (poor little Megan was sick with an upset tummy and couldn't make our play date! Trey was very sad!) and went to the Boondocks Playground for little kids! I think they call it the Kiddie Cove, or something similar to that! What a steal, $2.95 for an all day pass! This play structure was at least 3 stories high, and when I say it was large enough for me to fit in it, you better believe I am telling the truth, because I DID test it out! There was a slide in it that I thought was amazingly fun!
Talk about a sport, Angie, being pregnant and needing to take her glucose tolerance test that afternoon was up in the playground with us, crawling through tunnels and sliding down the slides! She is amazing!
After an hour of play or so, we tried out their "food court" and we were pleasantly surprised! While waiting for our food, Trey enjoyed watching a "High School Musical" music video, and let EVERYONE know in the food court that High School Musical is his favorite; AND that he LOOOOOOOVES Gabriella! What are we to do with he and his crushes?! I had a Caesar Salad wrap that was to die for!
Boondocks Playground will stay on at the top of our indoor playgrounds for a long time!
