1st Bath!

9.21.08
Tian dislikes being unwrapped, changed out of his clothes, or his diaper changed. So, if you could only imagine, a bath wouldn't be a very pleasant experience for him. Before we got Tian ready for his bath, I turned on the shower as hot as it could get, I closed the windows and the door in the bathroom, and let the room get steamy. Once it was bath time, he was so comfortable in his little sauna.

Tian waving at the camera! Notice, no tears!

As I was scrubbing his hair, I could have sworn he had curly hair. I was so excited!

Still, no tears!!!!

The tears later came when we left the comforts of Tian's sauna.

Trey took this picture. Unfortunately, when I brushed Tian's hair, the curls disapeared, along with my dreams of having a curly haired child!

The Christensen's

9.21.08
The Christensen's stopped by for a sweet visit. Loni brought the cutest blanket and matching burp rags with stars on it she had crocheted around the edges. Little does Loni know, I LOVE stars! She also brought a yummy zucchini chocolate bread over that was to die for.

Loni

Loni said Brother Moore, a sweet man who helps me with my Gospel Doctrine Lessons announced Tian's birth, but had forgotten Tian's name. He looked around the classroom looking for Justin, but Justin was no where to be found. Loni just began laughing, because she knew Justin, and her husband Tony were out in the halls talking about hunting. Justin and Tony are ALWAYS exchanging hunting stories.

Tony and Justin chatting about Hunting. Notice the magazine on our trunk?

The Jones'

9.21.08
When I called Annabelle to tell her Tian was born, I told her she had another hair client in the making! I was excited to show Annabelle Tian and his serious head of hair. She was able to show me the cow-licks Trey had before his hair really came in, I was anxious to have her tell me how many cow-licks Tian had. She only counted two, which is a very small amount compared to Trey's 4 or 5.

Annabelle brought Tabitha and Preston over, who Trey just adores! Annabelle then tells us that she is going to be bringing us dinner over in the next week. It was delicious! Meatballs, veggies and a YUMMY Key-Lime Pie! Thanks for coming, for the yummy dinner, and thank you for your friendship!

Annabelle

Trey insisted on sitting next to Tabitha for the picture. I think there might be a slight crush on Tabitha, and don't ask me why Trey doesn't have a shirt on. Maybe he is trying to impress Tabitha with his huge muscles! Tabitha said she will be able to "babysit" Tian while I am getting my hair done by her mom!

Trey took this picture of Preston. I think it is so cute!

Williamson's Visit

9.21.08
Thanks Williamson's for the visit. Trey thinks "Uncle Moose" is the coolest and has loved playing with the monkey bath toys; even if they really are for Tian! Also, the nice comfy towel has come in handy on MANY occasions! Thanks again for the visit and more importantly; thanks for your friendship!

Trey's 1st Hunt

9.20.08
Trey's a big boy! He went hunting with Justin for the 1st time today. I was so excited for him to go, he has been wanting to go hunting with Justin for about a year now.

-Trey almost looks too mature to be sitting in a carseat!-

Trey rode in our Kelty backpack until Justin wanted to shoot a bird. Trey got a little nervous and didn't want Justin to shoot anymore, but enjoyed being outside hiking with his Dad. Thanks Justin for building these sweet memories with Trey!

4 day old Tian and Grandma Bend

9.20.08
I LOVE these pictures of my mom and Tian. At 4 days old, you can tell he is already in love with his Grandma Bend.
I hope I look just as great as my mother does as I get older.
I love you mom.
You are a wonderful example to me of how a mother should be.
You are selfless, caring and always thinking of others.
You were our saving grace through this new step in our lives.
Thank you for all you did for our growing family.
I love you!

Before Tian was born, I had planned on swaddling him. My friend Sommers has swaddled baby Shaydon since he was born and he was always so comforted. Trey never did like swaddling, so it was completely new to me. Tian LOVES to be swaddled!!!

A place Tian loves to sleep in is the Moses Basket. My friend and co-worker Sonya has lent us her Moses Basket. We used it for Trey, and now we are using it for Tian. Thank you Sonya for letting us use your basket!!! Tian LOVES it, and so do I!

The Pirate and the baby

9.20.08

This Pirate sure does love his baby brother he has so sweetly nicknamed, "my baby!" This pirate costume was worn by one of my brothers and is a favorite thing for Trey to wear.

Tian's first "MANicure"

9.19.08
Notice I said, "MAN-icure!" (Even men need manicures.) We were told by Jennifer, one if my labor and delivery nurses that babies nails do not separate from the skin until they are 2 weeks old and that you should file their nails. Trey's nails were so long upon arrival, we HAD to cut them. Tian's really are connected to the skin, and so we had to file them. He was scatching up his face so badly, I eventually broke down and filed the puppies to little nubs. Here is a picture of many firsts!

1st MAN-icure!

What Happens in Vegas

9.19.08
My mom had told me about the movie What Happens in Vegas and so we decided to have a movie night. Justin found the movie on Redbox, got some chocolate shakes (mainly for me!!!) and we sat and watched it. Trey loved cuddling with my mom and stayed awake through the whole movie!

Notice my mom's shirt? It says, "Good Mom!" I bought that for a birthday gift because she is SUCH a great mom! I love that she is wearing it in this picture, all cuddled up with my big Trey-man! She is SUCH a good mom and grandma!

After work with Daddy

9.19.08
When Trey was an infant, it was such a special thing for Justin to come home from work and lay down with Trey. So, after this first day back at work for Justin, he cuddled with little Tian on the couch just like old times! This too was the first day I really recognized Tian getting major jaundice.

Thanks Megan and Wendy

9.19.08
Trey was so excited to see his friend Megan. When Wendy arrived with Megan, Trey ran outside and gave Megan the biggest hug ever. He has missed his friend "little Megan!"

Thanks for the visit Wendy!

The Blanket

9.19.08
When I was young, there was a woman named Sister Leschot in our Pleasant Hill, California ward that would make a sweater for every baby born into the ward. She made some for my brothers who have since handed them down to my little guys.

Well, she stopped making sweaters and now makes blankets. My mom asked her to make a blanket for Trey when he was born; he was eventually blessed in Sister Leschot's blanket.

When my mom found out I was pregnant with Tian, she asked Sister Leschot if she would make another blanket. The blanket she sent was beautiful and I am terrified to actually use it. We spread it out on the couch to get some pictures of Tian with Sister Leschot's blanket, and Trey just fell in love with it!

Thanks Sister Leschot!

Day with Grandma Bend

9.19.08
Today Justin went back to work. My mom and I stayed home and played with the boys. Justin arrived home from work with a blue Boise State beanie for little Tian. So sweet of him to think of us while at work. He also came home bearing gifts from kind co-workers.

Justin is so brave. I was thinking about our hospital stay and realized I had forgotten our two free diaper bags full of freebies. Justin is such a trooper; with a carload of co-workers, he stopped at the hospital, went to the 8th floor and retrieved our diaper bags. I could care less about the bags, I wanted the free loot inside.

Thanks Justin for being so willing to feed my OCD behavior and retrieving those silly diaper bags! I love you!

Here are some sweet pictures of Tian and Grandma Bend. My mom made me promise not to get her face in the picture of Tian sleeping on her.
