Tian's new 'do

12.27.08
I miss this hair already! You can see the horrible job I did on Tian's haircut if you look at the sides of Tian's head. So sad.

1st haircut

12.27.08
First haircut at 14 weeks, and I did a HORRIBLE job! I think I was nervous, as you can tell by the pictures, Tian wasn't happy at all! I think he knew what was happening before I even brought the scissors to his sideburns. (AND, I think I cursed his cute hair, because he quickly lost most of it within about 2 weeks of his 1st haircut! Why didn't I just wait?!)

"Once there was a Snowman..."

12.24.08
Check out this snowman! It took Justin, Taylor and Robert to lift the "head" onto the snowman.

To keep the snowbuilding tradition alive, Justin and my brothers also built a snow fort/slide. Trey is so brave, sliding in all different directions down this slide. I even attempted the slide!!!

And while we were playing in the snow, Grandpa Bend tended to Tian. It was so cute, through the window, I saw Grandpa Bend dancing with Tian! You can often find Grandpa snuggled up with Tian, just as he did with baby Trey! Thanks Dad for watching Tian while we played in the snow! It was so nice not having to worry about Tian, and I am sure he enjoyed some time with just you! He sure does love you!

Just as Tian had done earlier in the day, Trey came in from an afternoon in the snow, and was out cold! Rosey cheeks and all, fell right asleep on the couch!

Bath in Grandma's Sink

12.24.08
We did this with Trey when he was Tian's age, so, we thought Tian would enjoy it. He did of course. He just looks so cute wet and clean!

Lego

12.24.08
After sledding, Trey came inside and worked with his Lego pieces, with Uncle Taylor and Tian watching over! That was always the fun part about Christmas growing up. Once all of the present opening ended, playing with our toys was something we would do all afternoon long. It was awesome to see Trey as a big boy, enjoying his Lego's, teaching Taylor a thing or two about Lego building. Tian enjoyed just watching the two boys work their magic, Lego style!

Santa's Car Lot

This video is classic! Santa had left Trey a Jeep for Christmas which Trey nearly walked right past!

Notice, the Handy Manny tool set in the back of the Jeep!

Derek and the Double Decker

Derek is so stinkin' brave, I can't stand it. He wanted to try out Taylor's bike, so quietly, he followed Taylor around the sportscourt, as Taylor was riding his bike. Taylor asked Derek if he wanted to ride his bike, Derek said, "Yes." With help from a few, Derek rode around Taylor's bike like a champ!

Trey, the Shepherd

12.24.08
My dad was in a nasty car accident about a year ago. After the accident, my dad spent many weeks recooperating, walking first with a walker, then a cane. Trey found the cane my dad used and started walking around the sport court with it. He called himself a Shepherd that was looking for the Christmas star to follow. He then proceeded to act like a shepherd, finding the Christmas Star which led him to baby Jesus. He went to a corner, said, "I found baby Jesus and he is sooooooo cute!"

Handy Manny Tools from Santa

Christmas Morning
(12.24.08)

Trey has wanted this tool set from Santa since September 22, 2008 (I remember clearly the first time he asked for it. Grandma Marie and Tina were over at our home visiting right after Tian's birth and Tina brought over the Fisher Price toy catelog. From that moment on, it was love at first sight for Trey and the Handy Manny Tools!). Santa finally granted his wish!

The barn

Trey always wants to visit the cows while at my parents home, but once he gets out to the barn, he gets so nervous. He hates the sound of them "mooing." Luckily, Robert, my brother was with us and "protected" Trey from the cows. (as if the cows could bust through the barn doors! Trey has quite the imagination!) For the holidays, the barn corral had wreaths hanging from them. If the cows knew just how lucky they are!

Tradition: The Pickle

My mom had read the tradition about the Christmas Present Pickle and thought it would be a fun tradition to begin. I saw that the World Market had them, but they sold out within a day or so. My mom checked the World Market in Bend; sure enough, they were sold out as well. As a last resort, my mom checked a little figurine shop in Bend, not really thinking they would have a pickle ornament, and they did. Not only did they just have one, they had SEVERAL to choose from! We both were so excited!

Guess who found the pickle:

The tradition is: whoever finds the pickle first gets to open present first!

Snow Paint

12.24.08
Water and food coloring. Could there BE any other easier recipe for fun in the snow?

Trey starting to "write" his name in the snow. He has the "r" and the "T" down, although in the wrong order, I can't complain! He has never been taught the lower case "r!"

A shout out to my boyz!!!

Christmas Day Sledding

12.24.08
Is there a better way to spend Christmas afternoon then with family and sledding? I think not!

I took my turn sledding! I really enjoyed it, until my dad kept driving me over some huge bumps. I yelled, "Is there still irrigation pipe out here?" My mom and dad's response was "no." I couldn't figure out what I kept sledding over. My mom later told me the bumps were frozen Cow Pies!

Tian enjoyed being outdoors for a while, but got cranky with the cold. When I brought him indoors and stripped him down, he immediately fell fast asleep!

Trey, Justin and the rest of the family spent most the late morning and afternoon outside sledding. Taylor, my brother was outside sledding for so long, his pants froze to his booty!

Thanks mom and dad for the memories!

Look at the view behind us! Gorgeous!
