exhausted

8.17.09

You know your little guy is exhausted when he wakes up screaming from a nap, requesting an uncrustable, eats it within minutes, and then quickly falls back to sleep.

Blind Date and the Christensens

8.10.09
So, the little matchmaker in me thought it would be fun to hook up Chelsea Ann's little sister Sarah with Kole Christensen from our ward. I called Kole's mom Loni and asked her what she thought. She said, "Let's do it." So, we did!

The Christensen's invited us over for a BBQ and a round or two of Holey Boards (a family game they have played for many family reunions.). There is a wooden board with holes cut out of it. The object is to throw a washer into the holes, which earns you points. The first person to the score of 21 wins.

Trey and Tian enjoyed watching the game, Trey tried a time or two at the Holey Boards, but what Trey REALLY enjoyed was a ride on their 4-wheeler!

Thanks Christensen's for a night of fun!

Sarah, the born athelete was amazing at Holey Boards.

He thinks they are coming over to see him; little does he know!!! So, Morgan, McKenna, Ashley, Brooklynn and Tyler, whenever you want to come and play, AND watch cartoons (can't forget that. Thank you Direct TV very much:( ), you are invited!!!

This elephant towel was one of Trey's favorites. Trey gets a little posessive when he sees Tian wearing, and all Tian can do is giggle!

Chesley's

8.8.09
Marie participated in the Emmett Triathlon, and after a day of "relaxation," she so kindly invited us over for dinner and birthday cake for her baby Dallin. What a busy day for her family! Thank you for the yummy food, great company, and wonderful entertainment for our little guys!

Trey lovin' the birthday cake.
Happy Birthday Dallin

Tian's feet are constantly dirty from crawling around everywhere! He definitely got into the grass and dirt this evening!

The boys caught rolly-polly's, Hunter decided to put one in his hair!

flower

I can't believe this flower came from our yard. The only one of it's kind; don't ask me how it planted itself into our yard!

Bubbles

8.8.09
After Justin's victorious Triathlon, we celebrated with an afternoon of bubbles!

While Dad Cycled, Ran and Swam....

8.8.09
...we ate breakfast at McDonald's and checked out the city of Emmett. The last time I took Trey to McDonald's for breakfast was May 2007 and I swore he was going to be our first AND only child. We were in Jackson Hole, Wyoming for a conference of Justin's and Trey was JUST about to turn 2. AHHHHHHHH, memories I would prefer NOT to revisit.

This McDonald's was a different experience. I didn't have to worry about Tian eating breakfast; that was a no brainer. And Trey was so darn hungry, he ate and ate and ate. I LOVED it! And, the service was so kind, it couldn't have been a better breakfast.

The town of Emmett is very stroller friendly, we walked up and down the streets. I told my friend Jessyka, whose husband is from Emmett that we need to take our boys for some pictures into Emmett.

This boy of mine (Tian) is going to need botox between the eyes by the time he is 9 years old. That squishy face of his is so stinkin' cute, but I am afraid all of his pictures will have him doing the squishy face.

Emmett's Most Excellent Triathlon

8.8.09
Justin has been training for two Triathlons since the beginning of the year. He has been waking up early and biking 13 miles to work or running, and as the boys got ready for bed, he would work out at the gym or swim. Sometimes he would run or ride at work; basically, he trained constantly. He would try to train while we all slept, but we still missed our Dad.

Well, one of the two Triathlon has come and gone and Justin did great! So great, I think he might have been bit by the "Triathlon bug." Do you hear a smile in my voice?

I wouldn't be able to witness the Triathlon in Rexburg Justin is racing in, so he decided to race in one close to home. So, bright and early (before 7am) the whole family packed into the car and drove to Emmett, Idaho where Justin competed in his first 1/2 Triathlon.
Sleepy boys up for the morning and ready to see Dad race!

The morning was drizzly, but it soon turned warm and sunny.

A little nervous prior to the race. I don't think he would admit it, but you can see it in his eyes!

See the rain drops on his bike seat?

Justin did amazingly well, ESPECIALLY for his first race. The boys and I waited at the finish line, which was actually the bike to run exchange post. I was shocked to see Justin rounding the corner on his bike, being one of first dozen to complete the bike portion. I got a little teary eyed, being so proud of him and all that he accomplished. I was standing next to the winner of the Triathlons mother, and she commented on how well Justin was doing for his first race. As he was changing out of his riding gear and into his running gear Trey and I cheered him on. Trey also yelled, "Don't forget to take off your helmet!!!" Justin waved and kind of laughed as he took off his helmet. (the racer before him took off running WITH his helmet on. We were afraid Justin may do that!)

Look at all of those bags left. Hardly any bikes hanging, meaning, Justin was one of the first bikers to finish!

As we waited for the runners to cross the finish line, many emotions ran through my body. Is he doing okay? Is he tired? Is he going to faint or pass out when he reaches the finish line? (I saw a man as green as broccoli cross the finish line which made me very nervous.) He finished without any problem and said he was feeling great!
You really can't see Justin, but he is running near the street sign in a blue shirt. He's off!!!
Trey waiting anxiously for Justin to cross that finish line!

Relief written all across that handsome face.
We are so proud of you Justin! What an accomplishment.
