Zoo Boise and "S" Park with Jaime and Ava

6.29.09
We love Jaime and Ava and are trying to have a monthly play date with the two of them. The first one was to Zoo Boise where Trey and Ava got to pet a Badger. Trey was obsessed with the Badger. In fact, I was afraid he was going to ask me if we could get one when Cooper dies! Trey loved flirting with Ava. How could you not love that sweet Ava girl?!

7.20.09

The second play date was to "S" Park! A favorite park of ours! Ava, Trey and even Tian enjoyed the swings. Ava wasn't too sure about the water feature and instead enjoyed running through the soccer/baseball/football fields. Trey enjoyed running AFTER Ava and Jaime.

Thank you Jaime and Ava for playing with us! We love our new tradition!

During these two play dates, Trey encountered some "different" people. The first incident occurring at the zoo with a group of disabled adults in wheelchairs. One man in a wheelchair could only make noises, and the noise he preferred to make was a deep, loud, moaning noise. This group of adults seemed to be on our tail throughout the zoo, and eventually the noise started to wear on Trey. I felt so bad for Trey; he is so sensitive when it comes to noises. We eventually went a different route, losing our disabled group in the dust. On the way home from the zoo, we had a long talk about differences. Some people use words to talk, others use noises or sounds. I reminded him that sometimes Derek, his uncle/my youngest brother uses noises to communicate instead of words when he gets frustrated or upset. Trey's response: "That's okay mom if Derek does that. He can do that. But no one else."

The second occurrence with "different" people happened at "S" park in the water feature area. There was a "little person" which Trey eventually nicknamed the "Little Lady." Trey was convinced she was chasing him which freaked him out. Jaime was so sweet, she said, "Trey, she is playing in the water just like you. She likes the water just as much as you do." Well, that didn't satisfy Trey and he refused to get into the water feature from then one. Hence, he was stoked when Ava decided the football field was cooler to play in then the water feature. Again, on the ride home from the park, we had a long talk about "different" people and how Heavenly Father loves us all the same. Some people are little, some are really tall, some are really old and some are really big. They are all just people. When I told him about the really big people, he reminded me how big I was when I was pregnant with Tian (he refers to that period of life as when I had a BIG tummy!!! Thanks for the reminder!)and then said that I was the only one that could have a big tummy. No one else. (He sees ladies at the water park with their pregnant bellies exposed and it just freaks him out. It kind of freaks me out too, but I have never been a fan of a bare pregnant belly. EVEN my own.)

Snow White comes to Visit

6.28.09
After a morning of church, we got a pleasant surprise with a knock on our door. It was Snow White, aka Sydney and Geoff! They were coming to wish Trey a Happy Birthday and to deliver his birthday present. Sydney gives Trey the greatest gifts, and this year tops them all. His present was a Dr. Suess interactive game. As you can see, Trey ripped open the gift and was already testing it out! (Hense, the birthday cake on top of his head!)

Just the other day, someone asked Trey who his best friend was. Trey's reply was, "Sydney!"

Trey's Sunbeam class

Isn't Trey's sunbeam class the cutest?!

Anna and the King

6.27.09
Date night at the theater. Anna and the King was so entertaining. I can't beieve how many kids were in this play. At one point, there were at least 50 on stage. How do you keep 50 kids quiet backstage is beyond me!

Sydney, Aubrey and Geoff's B-day

6.27.09
The Moore's celebrated at the end of June Sydney, Aubrey and Geoff's birthday! There was a jump house, BBQ, water guns and water balloons. Trey was in heaven, and Tian enjoyed crawling around all the kids.

Tian and his love of balls.

Happy Birthday Sydney, Aubrey and Geoff!

Justin's first 50!

6.27.09
NO, Justin is NOT 50 yrs old! He completed his first 50 mile cycling race in the greatest time, we were so proud of him! We met him at the finish line and joined him for the luncheon held in honor of the participants. I do have to say I was a bit uncomfortable at the luncheon. I have never seen so much spandex in my life, AND, I felt like a complete cow while waiting in line at the luncheon. I was the only one not in spandex, and was surrounded by a ton of women who had just completed the race. As I listened to them chatting about their racing strategies and the workout routines, I felt very out of place. I hadn't even raced that day, yet, I was pigging out on their yummy luncheon! Oh well, I was busy with the two cutest boys around that morning, as they wasted their morning on a bike, listening to their iPods and working up a sweat! At least I had clean hair, I wasn't in spandex (thank heavens!)and my face was oil free! HMMMM!!!

greenbeans

7.16.09
(this is long overdue, but better late then never)
I got bit by the canning bug. I am not that efficient or that confident, but I enjoy it. I enjoy it even more when I can do it with friends.

I had always heard that canned greenbeans are better then the store bought kind, so we went to the community garden as a family for a family night and picked and picked.

Then, I was invited to Amy Ashby's home to can them. Talk about an amazing lady that Amy is. Her home was filled with kids, she fed them all lunch, got activities for them to do (like sewing! Yeah, Trey and Tian didn't sew, but the big girls did)and gave me and Alyce a tutorial on pressure cooking greenbeans.

Thank you Amy for all of your knowledge, your home, and your patience! Now, our family has some yummy greenbeans thanks to you!

ALL of the kids, and this isn't all of them!

snowcones

8.25.09
What could be better then an afternoon at Roaring Springs followed by an evening, visiting with our friend Miss Michelle at the snow cone shack? Pretty much, NOTHING!
We all love snow cones, especially little Tian! He couldn't get enough of Justin's snow cone! He really started to stand this evening, and hey, I would try to stand as an infant too if there was a snow cone in MY sight!

Tractor Days

8.25.09
Our friend Sommers has quite the connections. She always knows what is happening around town, and today there was no exception. She called us and asked what we were doing in the next hour or so. She said a friend of theirs works at a tractor store and they were having a Demonstration Day. We were THERE!

We not only got to ride on a Tractor, Trey even got to drive it. Did you know that tractors use GPS systems? HMMMMM, you learn something every day!

Thank you Kellen for the Tractor ride, and thank you Sommers for the invite! Tractors are the coolest in Trey's eyes! (he now thinks Grandma and Grandpa Bend need one! I called my mom and told her that Trey wants them to buy one. She said, "Don't you dare let Trey call Dad because he has been thinking about getting one for quite some time!")

(Sommers and Shaydon in their tractor!)

Happy Birthday Sommers

8.24.09
We love Sommers, she is the very best! For Sommers special day, we spent the morning eating breakfast at the Cracker Barrel, went to the temple to take some pictures of the boys, and then went shopping!

Trey and Shaydon spent most of their breakfast in the lobby! How could you not? It is literally a candy store!

(Around August, I have always taken Trey to the temple grounds!)

I have learned so much from my friend Sommers! She has taught me how to be a better friend, daughter and mother. She is so creative, talented and caring. Our family is so lucky to have Sommers in our lives! Thank you Sommers for all you do for us! We love you. Hope you had a wonderful birthday!

Trey and Tian are DONE!!!!

Dinner at the Anderson's

9.14.09
Our family had the greatest pleasure of eating dinner at the Anderson's this evening! Not only did they have yummy, delicious food, they also had entertainment planned! (Family Night.) Trey had the greatest time playing Army men with Kael, and Tian could have eaten them out of house and home!

Thank you for inviting us over for dinner Anderson's! The food was fantastic, and the company was even better!

Date Nite

9.12.09
I couldn't have asked for a better Saturday! Half of the day was spent with friends at Time Out For Women, and the second half was spent with Justin eating yummy food at TGI Fridays while watching the BSU football game (not something we had planned, but the game just so happened to be on at the restaurant. Justin was as happy as a clam!) and then an evening at the Theater watching the play "Sweet Charity."

Justin is torn between me, and the game.

"Sweet Charity" was a play about a lady who was obsessed with finding and falling into love. I don't know exactly WHAT her line of 'work' was, but she insisted she wasn't a prostitute. I would have begged to differ! Justin and I have the greatest seats, I must brag because they are seats I had requested for the whole season, and we sat next to a woman and her daughter. During the play, I kept looking over at the mother to see the expression on her face. She, being around 80, looked a little confused and maybe concerned with the story line of the play. There was one scene of the play that brought me to tears, literally. Most of the cast was on stage for this scene, and they were all obviously 'stoned.' They were singing the same line over and over, swaying back and forth, some dancing crazily, some laying on the stage floor. It was strange and rather uncomfortable to watch, and I still giggle just thinking about the sight. Anyhow, during this "stoned" scene, I looked over at the mother and started laughing hysterically. The look written across the mother's face brought me to tears!

Thanks to our fantastic babysitter Amanda who successfully put our boys to bed. She is the ONLY one who has successfully put both boys to sleep besides us, their wonderful parents, and their wonderful grandparents! Amanda, I will be so sad when you go off and get married!

Preschool Shopping

Labor Day 2009
While Justin went on a cycling "trip" (I think it was 60 miles in about 3-4 hours), I took Trey and Tian Preschool shopping. As you can see in a few blog posts back, Trey chose this Volcom "Superhero"-themed and had to wear the shirt out of the store.

I bribed Trey with a ride after our shopping trip.

Nostrils

Trey calls these "cups with the nostrils."

Time Out for Women

9.12.09
I find the name of this women's conference somewhat ironic. When most mothers hear the phrase, "Time Out," it is usually refering to a child something quite negative. But, this women's conference was anything but negative! It was fabulous, fantastic, energetic and uplifting. Something which was spent with friends galore!

A group from our ward took up nearly a whole row and then my friends Jessyka and L'erin joined us. I spent the lunch break with Janae, Jessyka and L'erin.

Yours Truly, Janae and L'erin

Janae, L'erin and Jessyka

Thanks for the invite Jessyka and thanks to Amy for the company and vehicle to and from the conference!

Next year, my mom is planning on attending with me! I am already looking forward to November!
