Anniversary Night

5.20.09 We had talked about what we wanted to do for our anniversary night. Because it was a Wednesday Night, we knew it would be slim pickings for babysitters (Young Women's/Mutual is on Wednesday Night in our area) so we decided to do something as a family. Trey has seen commercials for Chuck E. Cheese for years now and comments now and then about wanting to go. I don't think he really knew much about it, but I thought it would be harmless. Well, I had a lapse of memory and forgot how much Trey detests people dressed in mascot costumes. He LOVED all of the arcade games, LOVED the pizza (Justin and I thought it was pretty tasteless!) but when that furry BIG rodant (Trey commented on how much bigger he looked in real life) made an appearance throughout the place, Trey ducked for cover under the table. The place was filled with people to watch. People from ALL walks of life. We sat near a family of 8, and I swear the parents were Justin and my age. There was a W.T. family celebrating their son's birthday party. Our table was located near the entrance/exit, and I watched the mom of the W.T. family exit and enter multiple times. Well, little did I know, she was a total wine-o who was 'sneaking' out to her convertable car to sneak a swig of alcohol from a brown paper bag. How tacky is THAT? You can't even stay put for your son's birthday party? WHITE TRASH! Lastly, a few families that brought a smile to my face was a gathering of "Duggar-look-alikes." I am a little addicted to the show "18 and Counting" and think the Duggars are pretty interesting. Anyhow, a HUGE group of people clad in long denim skirts, and long permed hair took over the whole pizza place. I was in awe, basically gawking at the group, wishing I could take a picture of them but couldn't get up the guts. The night ended at Joe's Outdoor store where we found some great deals! North Face snow boots for me and a Roxy green beanie! Can't wait for Winter! (THAT was said with a ton of sarcasm. I really can't stand winter, but at least my feet will be warm and my head looking stylish!) 9 years and two sweet boys later! Trey loved this machine. The cutest thing about it was when it sucked up the ticket, it made a "munch-munch" noise. Tian, happy as always. EVEN if there WAS a large, furry mouse walking around our table. And WHERE was Trey when Chuck E. Cheese was making his rounds and stopped at our table: UNDER THE TABLE! Tian didn't mind, he offered a "high five" to the furry rodant. Trey and Justin in a "helicopter"

Trey-the dancin' fool!

Promise, Trey made the first 2 baskets. But, when the camera was rolling, he folded under pressure!

What a great anniversary! Ours is Thursday and we are trying to decide what to do. Maybe we should steal your idea and take the kiddos to chuckie cheese, looked like tons of fun!

This is exactly where I got my fear of mascots! It was my 5th birthday and mom and dad took me to Chuck E. Cheese and all the people things came to sing to me and I hid under the table and I've been afraid since.
