Crater Lake

As we drove home, we were looking at the surrounding areas on our car's GPS and we realized that Crater Lake really isn't too far from Bend. We have never been and thought it would be a nice end to our trip.

Why hadn't we been before? It is so close to Bend!

Some interesting facts about Crater Lake:

*The lake is five miles wide and ringed by cliffs almost 2,000 feet high.

*1,943 feet deep, the lake is the deepest in the United States and one of the deepest in the world.

*One of the most purest and most pristine lakes in the world.

As we drove around the lake, we found snow and watched a beautiful lightening storm. This is what we drove home in:
