4.3.10
Easter morning's activity continued at "the cousin's" home with an Easter Egg hunt and an Easter Breakfast potluck. We all ate, hunted, and played for a bit, and then went back to our home to watch the morning session of General Conference.

easter egg hunt

3.25.10
James invited us to his neighborhood's easter egg hunt. Justin was out on a bike ride training for his summer of races, so, I thought it would be a nice activity to do. I parked at "the cousins" home and we walked over to their neighborhood's park for the big hunt.

Tian really understood what to do with the eggs. He only got a handful but that was enough to make him happy.

Trey went hunting with Tacy and Grandma Marie.

After the hunt, the boys and their cousins all gathered together to check out their loot. Tian proceeded to eat a piece of candy but forgot to take off the foil. The foil must have gotten stuck in his throat because he began to gag, and then puke all of his candy up, right in front of all the happy hunters! Always when you least expect it, a boy of mine pukes.

Another highlight of the afternoon, I basically schooled James in a race to his home from the park. I had Trey and Tian in our double stroller and I had on my Diesel slip on shoes. James had Tyson and Tacy in his double stroller and he was wearing his running shoes. At the same time, we both began running. I finally had to stop running just so he could catch up! Ahhhh, victory!
(actually, he probably was going easy on me, but I had a few reasons for not winning. First, I wasn't wearing my proper running shoes. Second, I had just about the same amount of weight on my stroller as he did, AND, I am smaller then him. THAT is how I justify schooling James!)

Baby Isaac Day #1

I got the opportunity to see Tina in the hospital after Baby Isaac was born. I posted the pictures from that evening a little while ago. Here is the blog post.

Isaac's BIRTHday

3.17.10
So, Tina, my sister in law is very close to having her sixth baby. She went in for a doctor's appointment early in the morning and everything went well. Shortly after leaving the doctor's office, Tina began feeling yucky and began bleeding. She called the doctor's office and they said to check into the hospital.

Tina had the oldest three kids still in school, the youngest two children were off at a friend's home until my boys woke up from their naps. When they woke up, I surprised them with the plan of going to "the cousins" and staying with them until baby Isaac arrived.

We began with playing soccer and playing on the play structure.

Tyson, the new big brother.

Trey and Tacy, cutest cousins ever!

The last family picture of just FIVE.

We ordered pizza to be delivered and the kids all drew "Welcome Home" posters for their mom and new baby brother.

Tina delivered a healthy, sweet baby boy via C-Section. James arrived home around 11ish where he found me searching their computer for photography actions for photoshop. He looked exhausted, still wearing his work clothes.

Just a picture to show James and Tina how much their children watch out for each other. Tyson needed his shoe lace tied, and Katie was there on the spot to help!

Justin, the greatest uncle EVER! Always out playing with the kids. He is also sporting his green striped work shirt for St. Patty's day!

I learned something about St. Patrick's Day today I never knew. If you want to be kissed on St. Patrick's Day day, instead of pinched, you wear RED! Look at the picture above and tell me WHO wanted to be kissed. They swore they didn't know about this RED rule, but, secretly, I think they knew all along!

baby Isaac Photo Shoot

3.22.10
5 days after being born, with the help of my mother-in-law, we took baby Isaac's newborn pictures. I had been collecting props, digging out Tian's old baby blankets he never used and studying different newborn poses. To be honest, newborns aren't my thing; unless they are MY newborn of course. I was scared stiff walking up to Tina's home, but once we began, it was wonderful. Tina helped wrangle the children (4 in all, counting Isaac) while Isaac slept peacefully throughout the whole 1.5 hour shoot.

As I was driving out of Tina's driveway, I quickly called my friend/coworker/photography go-to guru Emily and said, "Emily, newborns is where it's at! They are amazing!" She too was shocked, the two of us have stayed clear of newborns up until this point.

THEN, my views changed with the next newborn pictures I took. Oh well, not every baby is the same, and not every shoot goes as plans! Alas, here is baby Isaac.

And, my very last shot that I am very happy with. Thanks to my mother-in-law for much needed help, AND, my youngest brother Taylor. Yes, without the two of them, this would have never worked!
